American Idol

BROADWAY for katherine!!?? That is a great idea, i never really considered it, but you are right. She would do great there. You know, i have read of several former idol contestants finding their niche on broadway.

I overlook elliott's teeth. He WOULD look better with a repaired grill, but why risk changing the sound of his voice. Consider Jewel, her grill is pretty whack too, but i read that she feared changing the sound of her voice as it sounded now. and Elliott IS much more pleasing to look at than clay was, not that clay was a total dog or anything.

Hey Dody, i just bought one of chris's band's CD's. Kelly posted the website earlier in the thread, maybe on 36-37. i want to say it was www.absentelement.com but i may be wrong. i listened to a sample of the music, and it is Chris, just like I want to hear him. I think he could boost Absent Element to real success if he hangs with them. He has a huge enough fanbase with AI to lay a firm foundation to build on.

Kellymoos i read that too about the contestant voices on the phone numbers. i think we are ALL trying to find some kind of flaw to blame this on, we are still all shellshocked. I think that once we all see that Chris is not over as a result of being booted off the show, that we will begin the "healing" process and move on.

And Sunta, thanks for answering back. I really worried that i had opened one of those cans of worms that explodes all over ya. PHEW! Group HUG!

OMGOSH how did I miss that Chris had a contract already? I read something on MSNBC about putting him in an established group that had a "one name band", but it didnt hit me that it might be FUEL.

I thought Creed or something like that - hmmm wonder how quick we can pre-order the new cd's? I went to order his one and it was sold out yesterday

btw...Dody - you have great taste  hehehe

This 64-year-old Grandma who loves Fuel is one of a kind I think. I love rock and I love Chris's voice. Ryan Seacrest announced yesterday on Extra Chris was signing with his favorite band, and he has said on several occasions that Fuel is his favorite. Because they have recently lost their lead singer I'm positive it is them. Isn't that great news. I will be the first in line to buy that CD. Chris is better than the lead singer they had before...but then I'm prejudiced. I'm disappointed because I don't think anyone truly deserved to win over him, but his career is going big time. He can't sign officially until after American Idol and not sure if he is committed to tour with them, but he was on Jay Leno last night and he is one happy guy. He didn't like the way Seacrest gave him the news on American Idol when he said "Chris everyone thinks you are going to be American Idol's next winner" and then he said "Chris tonight is the end of the road you are going home tonight". That's the part ticked Chris off and shocked him. This was all about people thinking he was safe and not calling in. Now the show kind of sucks, because with the exception of Elliott there really aren't any great voices. Tayler would be OK if he quit convulsing...the man can NOT dance, and Kathryn...what can I say...beautiful but can't sing that well. It will be boring without Chris there, but he will be a great success story. He is definitely in negotiations for a huge contract and well deserving. He will be bigger than anyone that is left there for sure.

This was from Extra TV:

Chris Daughtry Gets 'Idol' Boot and Offer of a Lifetime

http://extratv.warnerbros.com/v2/news/0506/11/1/text.html

One of those opportunities, in fact, may have already come along. Members of the band Fuel appeared on Thursday's edition of Extra and told correspondent Terri Seymour ("Idol" judge Simon Cowell's girlfriend) they'd love to have Daughtry as their new singer.

I was going to stay away from this cursed show but it drew me back in for the last half. Since my boy Cris is gone..... my vote now goes to Taylor. (not that I actually vote or anything)

WOW what a show. I actually thought this was a very good show. I don't know who I would vote for. I think Elliott is the weakest from an overall performer. He is painful to watch as it seems he is always trying too hard to connect. I thought Kat sang well and Taylor was wonderful. Taylor is so different, but I love to watch what he is going to do. I think Elliott will leave and Taylor will win the whole thing.

I thought last nights show was so much better than the last few weeks. I really enjoyed it! I think no matter who wins or goes home at this point, they are all extremely talented and will each have a place in the music industry.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
