Hi. I'm new to this forum. I had my op in 12th April 2011 and have lost 39l pounds to date. I am scheduled to have my last fill on 16/03/12 and at the moment struggling to get any more weight off. I have been stuck for 2 months at this weight fluctuating between 200 and 204. I'm trying to decrease my portion sizes and since doing this have lost 4 pounds this week, bringing me back down to 200 pounds again. Anyone else stuck like me ?

How many calories are you eating? Are you exercising? I know it has to be frustrating as heck. I would be very upset even now if my weight loss just quit (I am at 220 lbs and was up to 300lbs, but was 283lbs the day of surgery). My weight loss is slowing down too but I'm older and disabled. Are you keeping track of your calories on a site like my fitness pal (a site where you can log all you eat and keep up with the calories)? Are you exercising aerobically for 30 minutes a day? Hoping your plateau will stop soon. Maybe you just need this last adjustment?

I always found the big milestones like 300lbs and 200lbs for some reason were the hardest to get under .. no idea why it might just be sod's law .. try changing something like what u eat or when or add some strength training to exercise if u arent doing any thats always a good calorie burner or when i was stuck i didnt do my cycling i went mad on housework washing paintwork etc, worked a treat anad kick started me back again.. Routine works for a good while then u need to shock your body a bit a change things up .. it normally responds :)

Thanks so much for your response :) I'm not very strict with my calorie counting but try and stay under 1000 a day and I'm not a great fan of excercing. I know that cutting down on my portion sizes has helped this week and of course food choices are a big factor . To be honest I know what I have to do just need to get motivated. i'm really glad i stumbled across this app today as only my immediate family know I've had a lap band and sometimes I feel I have no one to share how I'm feeling with that understands. I am though going to take your advice and watch my calorie in take and up my excercise. I am a little concerned about my fill on 16 th march as I only have 4cc in my band last time had an unfill of half a cc as was way too tight and kept throwing up. So I'm not really sure whether I need another fill or I just need to be more strict with myself.

It's hard to tell. My Dr seems to think there is no starvation mode with the lap-band. I don't know if I believe that or not  . I know that I have had a hard time getting in 1000 calories a day. I was pretty much 450-650. Even now that I have had a slip (due to being ill and hurling pretty badly even with taking anti-emetics) and am on just liquids and have my band totally deflated, it is hard for me to have much of an appetite since being banded. I have never had a fill (he put a little Fluid in during surgery). I'm glad that I don't tho. I was hungry ALL my life and was always struggling with my weight since I was a toddler! Wow, I finally know how normal, skinny people feel... not hungry all the time!!! :D

Do you have a Nintendo wii? They have some fitness tapes on there that are actually FUN to do and you can do them in the privacy of your own home. You don't even feel like you are exercising. That could be a good idea for you since you don't like exercise (I like the effects of it but getting going can still be a struggle). Also, you can exercise by doing something like going bowling, going walking with friends in the park (is it cold where you are?), etc.. You really have to find a way to make exercise fun for you and to realize, exercise doesn't have to be like on "The Biggest Loser" (which is pretty much like being tortured, imho!). If you ever need someone to talk to, I have very little support myself. My family is NOT supportive at all (but my husband is the greatest).

We are almost like LB twins! I was banded 5/10/11. I've been fluctuating between 202 and 208. Down 40 lbs. It's driving me crazy! 3 month now. I saw my Dr today and he didn't do a fill for me because according to his scale I'm down 4 lbs in 4 weeks. I am eating small portions, and working out 3 times per week. So back to the drawing board I guess, something has to change right?

I know that I do have to remind myself that this is not a race, it's the rest of my life. Slow and easy wins the race. But it does get very frustrating.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
