Nerdfitness.com!

Has anyone seen or visited nerdfitness.com? I found it last week and it's a great website! It's very inspiring and focuses on the Paleo diet (back to basics, all natural, organic meats, fruits, veggies, nuts, etc) and strength training!

This guy is really motivating and inspiring! I highly suggest you check it out. I plan on looking into strength training today at my gym! I never really thought about doing it until I did some research and seems like the best way to lose weight and keep strong muscles! I'm hoping it will help tone up my flab before it gets too bad!

I'll update everyone on what I find out at my gym!

I've heard of the Paleo diet, some people I work with are trying to follow that diet. I'll have to look at the website.

I tried following the paleo diet for awhile last year, but it turned out too expensive and meal planning oriented for me. I also found it confusing because the book I purchased talked about one way of eating, but the people on the forums practiced another. If you can sustain the eating, I am sure it would work. It made sense to me based on the biological development of our bodies...

Hello everyone! I've finally gotten off my ass and started my new NerdFitness-based workout routine! I've only worked out twice so far but I'm feeling good! I've decided to suck it up and start working out before work and I'm really enjoying it! I'm hoping to stick to this routine MWF every week! Here is what I'm doing:

Walking intervals 15 mins

Planks 30 seconds (right now it's only 15!)

Bench press 10 lbs 10 reps

Squats 10 reps

Overhead press 10lbs 10 reps

Deadllift 6 lb bar 10 reps (still practicing my form before I do real weight on this)

Repeat 3-4 times (right now I can only do 2 sets!)

I'm doing my measurements tomorrow and I will try to keep everyone updated as time goes on!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
