TracieR reacted to Rojasanoll in Don't Weigh Myself?!?!?!?!?!Guess I'm different from most. I do weigh myself everyday and check up or down, then I assess what I ate or drank the day before. It's a way for me to monitor myself. But I don't feel bad if I've gained a pound because I know if its Water weight or carb intake by reviewing food activity. The weight scale is my personal trainer on checking on myself daily. I didn't do this before and that's why I'm overweight.
Best wishes to all. My band date is Aug 6.

TracieR reacted to Toddy in Don't Weigh Myself?!?!?!?!?!I'm with TracieR, I weigh once (or twice) a day, but I write it down on my calendar once a week on the same day every week. That way, when it feels like I've been battling the same 1-2 pounds forever, I can look back and see that six pounds in a month is not bad!

TracieR reacted to 2muchfun in Don't Weigh Myself?!?!?!?!?!Twice a day. Morning and before bed. If you understand the way the band works and acknowledge that you may only lose 1 or 2 lbs a week what's the risk? I know when I've been bad and it shows on the scale. Weight fluctuations can occur for many reasons and my mental health isn't so fragile that I would throw in the towel if I gained a few lbs. It's usually only Fluid retention if I've eaten too many carbs.
How can you move forward if you don't know where you are? jmo

TracieR got a reaction from NWgirl in Don't Weigh Myself?!?!?!?!?!I am almost a year and a half out and I still weigh myself everyday. I only record it once a week on Thursday's. I figure avoiding the scale is what got me to almost 400lbs. It works for me. You are doing awesome - 13lbs in 9 days is amazing. Good luck to you!

TracieR got a reaction from judych in Food Stuck For 12 HoursI have gotten stuck twice where it did not pass or come up! I had to go to my doctor for a small unfill. Both times I actually felt it pass when she took the Fluid out. It was sweet relief! Both times I was stuck on chicken. Totally my fault, ate too fast and didn't chew enough. I now know I can not eat chicken breast. It doesn't work for me. I can do dark meat chicken when it is very moist.
It is the worst feeling when it does not pass. Glad you finally got it to come up!

TracieR reacted to Jean McMillan in Tired Of Hearing About Failures...I know exactly how you feel, and I think that a lot of people have bariatric surgery (of any kind) hoping or believing that it'll work like magic without any effort on their part. Sometimes that's because of poor pre-op education...not that their doctor lied to them, per se, but the bariatric team didn't give them the whole story.
But to be fair, I think that LBT members who are struggling, disappointed and suffering complications have as much right to post about their journeys as anyone else. If it seems that there are more negative posts than positive ones, it's probably because people tend to post more often when they're having problems than when they're doing fine. When I'm not in the mood to read the negative stuff, I do my best to ignore it.

TracieR got a reaction from Jepegurl in Sushi - Holy Cow!I would say if you have to go for work and don't feel comfortable making an issue out of it just go slowly! Take a little bite from each course and move on. As for the sushi - I break the rolls apart and eat the fish and dip it in soy sauce. I usually just move things around and pick at it when I am in a bad food situation. This is life and we have to just make it work sometimes! Good Luck!

TracieR got a reaction from Miss_A in Non Measurable Results From Lap BandI have been banded one year and still want to lose 70~lbs. but I am so happy with where I am.
I am now able to get down and up off the floor to play with my son without having to brace myself.
I flew in February and fit comfortably in the seat and the seatbelt - my husband actually got to use his arm rest!!
I don't have to worry about the booths anymore, I fit in them with room to spare.
I actually have displayed a few photographs of myself with my family around and I don't mind looking at them!!
I look forward to getting dressed up for things not dreading how uncomfortable I will feel.
Last night I wore a size 14 nightgown - down from a 26 merely a year ago.
My period has been regular for months which means maybe we can have another baby soon without all the complications I had with my son due to my weight!
Thanks for the post! I hope all of your NSV's happen for you!!

TracieR got a reaction from bornready in Hard Time EatingI know with me I cannot really eat too much in the morning. My band is super tight. I have a protein shake every morning and then later on I'll have either a cheese stick, almonds, or a bbq protein cracker (from my doctor) as a snack. I've read that a lot of people are tighter in the morning. If you are having trouble getting solid proteins down even when you are chewing alot and eating very slowly I would contact your Dr.

TracieR reacted to Cazzy in Someone Please Save Me From Junk Food! The more junk food you eat the more you will crave it, get rid of it out of the freezer and house. If you are hungry still then snack on food that is good for you not on food that is unhealthy and addictive.
It isnt called junk food for nothing
good luck !

TracieR got a reaction from chrissylu in Only Seven Weeks In And I Am Already FailingI had my surgery at 371lbs. The first 2 months before my first fill were so hard!! Once I got a fill it was much better, but sometimes it takes several fills before you feel restriction. Once you do it should help you control your eating. Are you working out moving your body? The thing that helped me be successful is I got a trainer who came to me twice a week. Yes, it was an expense but I vowed that I would not fail at this like everything else I tried. He really forced me to do things I would have never done.
You can so do this. Start over! Pretend it is day one. Do Protein shakes for a couple of days. Google - 5 day pouch test. It is like getting back to basics. Message me if you need motivation or to just vent!! You did not fail. You can start fresh today!!

TracieR got a reaction from Alex Brecher in Just Saw This: Carnie Wilson Has Wls - Again!Saw this article on my FB newsfeed from People magazine. Here is the link --> http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20580365,00.html
Twelve years after Carnie Wilson underwent gastric bypass surgery and famously lost 150 lbs., the singer has done it again: On January 18, Wilson went under the knife for lap-band surgery, PEOPLE confirms exclusively.
Since having the procedure – during which a silicone band is placed around the stomach to create a pouch the size of a golf ball – Wilson, 43, has lost 30 lbs. and counting.
"It was the right decision for me and I'm doing really well so far," Wilson tells PEOPLE. "It's all about taking good care of myself."
The singer, who is reuniting with Wilson Philips to promote their new album and their TV Guide Network reality show Wilson Philips: Still Holding On (premiering April 8), has struggled to lose the post-pregnancy pounds. Wilson has two daughters, Lola, 6, and Luciana, 2, with her musician husband Rob Bonfiglio, 44.
"Having children derailed me a bit," Wilson told PEOPLE in 2010 of her weight struggles. "I'm just frustrated with these pounds."
