Hello, my name is Emilee and I had the surgery in June of 2004. But have only today found this site, wish I had found it sooner. My starting weight was 303 and I'm down to 215....not where I thought I would be at this point, but I'm still very happy with my results. And the results aren't as great as they could be, because of me. I met my boyfriend and haven't been working out like I can and should...but I am happy that I've been maintaining this weight for months now and it's not like int he past where I would just balloon up again. I know as soon as I start working on it again, the weight will come off. I've only had one fill and that was a little over a year ago. I've been thinking about going in for another, but want to get down to 200 on my own before doing it. I haven't had a lot of time to look around the site, but plan on doing it. This place looks great and I hope to get to know all of you better!

Emilee

Welcome to LBT Emilee! Taking time off to enjoy a new boyfriend is a great reason in my book. Sometimes maintaining feels just as good as losing. :D

Exactly....I actually feel proud to be maintaining at this point. For so long, everytime I got on the scale the number was higher. I know that will never happen again, when I was losing everytime I got on the scale I knew I would never see that number again. But I really do plan on working out more once the spring comes. We just moved(which was a lot of stress) so now that things are settling down, I really want to work on losing the last of my weight. With summer coming and trips to Texas in the future planned, I have a reason to get ready to be in a swimsuit.

Thanks for all your comments...this board seems great!

Hey EmileeKaye,

Welcome! GREAT weight loss! And only 1 fill - WOW!

Kim

That is what has been so suprising to me on this board so far. It sounds as if fills are happening a lot more frequent. I didn't have my first fill until around the 7 month, I lost about 30lb after that fill, but lost most of the weight before the fill. Right now I really want to lose around 15 and have another fill, with the same results I would be around my goal weight, which is exciting!

Hi Emilee, welcome to LBT!! I'm in maintenance mode too, and it's giving me every bit as much joy as losing did. It's such a miracle to step on the scale every.single.morning and have the numbers be very close to the same. It must almost be what normal people experience!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
