I have 6.8 cc and I'm at 1/2 cup food per meal. I do feel I'm restricted and like I'm in the green zone. Go for next fill on the 29th I'm sure I want need one. I try not eat eat more than 1/2 cup that's where I was told to stay. I eat 2 meals a day and 1 Protein Shake and exercise. It has been going great. After the last fill I am able to stay at the 1/2 cup mark. Prior to that at 1 cup. I eat 2oz (1/4 cup) of meat 2 oz veggie (1/4 cup) or sometimes just 4oz meat, all depends. I am concerned about this not being healthy, my thyroid level was high and its always normal and my potassium was low. My pcp says quick weight loss can cause this, and will recheck levels in a month. Goodluck.

Hello all, how are you March bandsters doing with the weight loss? Are you feeling restriction with your fills?

hi everyone. WEll.. Im finding that two weeks out from my first fill im not hurting as much when eating. Mind you, i havent had any meat, apart from a small amount of bacon yesterday, oh, and a very small amount of chicken last night. There has been a distinct turn around in the last 24 hours. i never had an episode yesterday at all. Im going to wait this out until monday our time and if im still good ( and will try a small amount of meat) then i will cancel the unfill un thursday. iM hoping so much that i dont need to have any taken away. Im also cutting back to a 1/2 cup as of today. i think that maybe i was eating too much as well.. even though i was taking a long time to eat it.

what are the impressions on perhaps having four really small meals a day? i know that its fairly common to do that. Not sure about banders though.

I eat 2 meals a day, but small meals at 1/2 cup is good, I do it. I have no problems with any foods but I monitor my calories and everything I put in my mouth. I try make good food choices and avoid slider foods. If you cant eat meat u probably too tight or not breaking it down enough. Chew chew chew.

March bandsters, your recent conversation about how many cc fill and quantity you can eat and how often you eat....very helpful for me. I guess I consider myself a slow loser. I eat when I feel like it, don't count calories but try to make healthy choices. I certainly eat less and much healthier than preop. However my total cc is 3 and I was told that's 1.5cc in band...I think there is 1.5cc in port tube. I have a little restriction if I eat too fast, don't chew enough or eat dry food. I don't think this is the same as you who have more cc in fill. I can certainly eat 2 or 3 cups at a time of chili, soft meat and veggies. I have read other bandsters who carefully measure out 1 cup per meal. At this point I think I would be hungry all the time with that little. I guess this is just a diet of willpower until restriction green zone. Clearly I'm not there. Still, I am losing a little from my improved diet. You specific info with numbers and measurements helped me so much. Thanks. Melvan

Ready4changein2011, please be careful with your potassium, low can cause heart rhythm to act up. Try to eat a banana or 2 everyday. That has helped me in the past from similar problem with low potassium, mine was caused by BP pills. If yu take meds, that cold be the cause. Melvan

Hello all, how are you March bandsters doing with the weight loss? Are you feeling restriction with your fills?

I had my 4th fill last week and am finally in the green zone. I can go almost all day then it will hit me, "hey you haven't eaten today"... I still have the bad habit of eating too fast and thats usually just at work since I get very little time to eat.. My band definitely tells me when I have had too much and/or too fast. The weight (to me) seems to be coming off slower and slower. However, my Dr is happy with what I am doing so far... Despite these past week and half, I have lost my motivation/interest in exercising. I am hoping once things calm down at work, I will have more desire/energy to exercise again.

Yea I know. I tried banana in the beginning and struggled with it felt like it wasn't going down so I gave it away lol. But I tried one the other day and I was fine so I have added bananas back into my diet. My doc did change my BP meds go back in a month. Thanks

I have the same problem at work, hard to try to eat in such little time think Im gonna just have greek yogurt. Eating in a small amount of time gives me gas and anxiety. Dont want to get stuck. Congrats on weight lost

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
