February Bandsters?

I know there's a special section for this, but it doesn't seem to be too popular so I'll give it a whirl here..

Anyone here to be banded in February besides me?

My surgery date is February 15th.

Feel free to add me on Facebook for support, etc. =]

I just got back from fuddruckers and had a 1lb burger and finished it, it was on my bucketlist of food items before i get the band.

Will, My lap band surgery manual has a line in it that looks like this:

NO LAST SUPPER BEFORE SURGERY!!!!

So you decide! lol 001_tt2.gif

That's so funny, Greekie! I guess they predicted what everyone was thinking.

I think it is normal to freak a little bit about having surgery...no one does that often...I'm excited about changing my life, but I'd be lying if I said I am not apprehensive about the surgery itself. It will be my third laproscopic surgery--I had a Da Vinci "robot" hysterectomy 2 years ago, and a ovaian cyst removed 25 years ago. Anesthesia is not my friend, so I dread that. But I am trying to focus on how this lap band can help me get healthier as well as thinner....Deb

Feb 3rd for me :) im so so so excited/ nervous. Can't wait!!!

Got my date feb 16th!!!!

Hello, I am going to be banded on Feb. 16th @ 7am. I am really excited but a little scared. Hoping to make a few friends here and get some support down the road.

I am so nervous about the surgery that I'm not able to eat, I'm just not hungry at all now, I even feel sick after I force myself to eat. Since my initial consult on 1/19 I've lost 8 lbs. I don't start my pre-op shake diet til next week. Wondering if I'll be able to tolerate it. I see the surgeon on 2/06 and surgery is 2/21.

Starting my second week of the pre-op diet! So far I have lost 17lbs during the first week of the diet. I get banded on 2/6/2012! I started at 375 and Doctor would like me to get to 200. So I am looking to lose 175lbs. total!

Same here but let us support and engourage each other.. what I am doing now to shift my thinking is to think about other things also keep checking my old cloth when I was size 10 and this engourages me a lot..

Lol I have a couple of new jeans I had bought and couldn't wear cause they were my goal jeans. Well let's just say they are now 2 sizes too small from when I bought them, they are my inspiration. "I bought you and darn you I'm going to wear you!!" And then pass you on and get smaller jeans then that.

My heart is in this I don't want to keep going sizes up and packing away the clothes I'm too big for. I want to lose the weight and inches and get rid of the big girl clothes as soon as they get baggy.

It's just my anxieties getting the best of me that's keeping me from eating and being able to stomach anything. I'm a single mom of 3. Stressing over the surgery, healing post op, and being able to still take care of their needs.

Thankful to have this site as a reminder that im not alone.

Just approved should get a February surgery date soon. Glad its a lot of us we can support each other. Will keep you all poated on the date. Goodluck

cantwait2lose, How is the pre-op diet going? Any challenges I should know about? I start mine Thursday of this week.

Hi All! New to the site! My surgery date is February 10th :) I'm scared out of my wits, but excited too. I am a little worried because I have read where others aren't doing too well on the protein. I'm hoping that I tolerate it pretty well, and that I do okay on the liquid diet. Wow, just 11 more days....! :o

i just got approved last week, so now im waiting for my appt date, and to start my pre-op diet, THEN should be getting banded mid february!!!!!!! ahhhh :) so excited and ready for this waiting game to be ova finally ugh! im nervous about doing well with this pre-op diet but im gunna give this my all, time for a new me =] GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!!!!!!

Angel_eyes and Stace2882, I am scheduled for Feb. 16th but start my liquids Thursday. When I went to a support group meeting last week which was required before surgery date set, one of the nurses suggested anyone a week or 2 out from the liquid diet should start trying to drink a protein shake at breakfast & lunch then 3 to 5 ozs of protein & veggies for dinner. I bought some of the protein shake mix they sell in their store area called ChocoRite Protein Shakes. You can mix them with water, skim or 1% milk. I bought Peanut Butter & Strawberry Flavors. I tried with the water but couldn't handle it so I did the 1% milk and they are really good. So far so good for me doing this method for 3 days now so hopefully the Optifast will not be as bad. I hope this will help you guys get prepared as it did for me. Good luck to everyone.....
