  1. Totally freaked especially cause I just had revision surgery on my port!
  2. I was banded 2/16/12 and I had my port flip I never did get a fill. I just had my port revision surgery yesterday and he put a mesh on it to hold it in place plus gave me a gill of 3.5cc which is nice the surgery was easy and I am working today ---from home but at least I didn't have to take much time off
  3. On my last appt they submitted me to Aetna.. I was approved in 2 days and scheduled my surgery for 2 weeks out...started my pre-op that same day
  4. I had to stay overnight because my insurance preapproved saying I would be staying overnight.
  5. its hard for me to eat spicy foods and not drink anything.. the not drinking with eating and waiting 30 min after I eat to drink has cut down on me eating spicy foods
  6. I had my surgery THursday and I am having trouble getting stuff down too. I maybe get down 1 protein shake a day. I love the sf popcicles they are really good right now so I am having as many of those as I want to make sure I am taking in enough fluids. I got lightheaded and dizzy today and I think it was because I am dehydrated...keep drinking and maybe tomorrow will be better...thats what I am telling myself
  7. First post since surgery on Thursday...no lie its been adjustment. Which is weird considering all the blog reading and research I did. I was not aware I would feel as much restriction as I do. I can't finish a protein shake, I really can't finish anything. I am not hungry at all. I still have a lot of gas...feels like a pill stuck in my chest. I did nap today for 3 hours and on my port side. I am sore but recovery there the hardest bit is getting used to drinking and slowing down and making sure I get some nutrients. I have to force myself to drink some broth. I got sick and tried to puke but all that came was burps and lots of them. I wish I could make myself burp but its just not a talent I have. I am taking gas x strips and walking a bit. I got really dizzy and nasauous today..but I think it was because i was dehydrated. I had some broth and a sf popcicle and a sf jello and that seemed to bring me back to reality. So today is not a good day but I am hoping tomorrow is better. I actually had a good day yesterday watched a few movies and seemed to be doing well...not sure why I fell apart today.
  8. Not during preop I couldn't have vegetable or fruit juice too much sugar and acidity
  9. I gained during my supervised diet(3mos) with Aetna and I have no problems except overweight. they approved me in 2 days.
  10. depends on surgeon. I got my date before approval.
  11. Sojourner, I use benefiber in my shakes. I don't even taste it and it seems to be working fine!
  12. good luck...my surgery is also on the 16th...I can't wait...I have been on liquid pre-op for 2 weeks so I am ready to eat something I actually miss fruits and vegetables. your boss is a d**k for making you get him lunch.
  13. I so understand where you are at! I am scheduled for surgery Thursday 2/16 and I have been on shakes for 2 weeks. ughh I dreamt about bacon again last night...thought I was going to eat my pillow...at least then I could chew! I keep reminding myself that this is a test for the rest of my life....if I can make it through this when I get the help of the band it will be even easier. You can do it...hang in there and 12 lbs is awesome...you will never see those 12 lbs again!
