If are supposed to be on solids continue to eat solids. If you haven't purchased a food scale do so. If you are not measuring you are guaranteed to be eating too much. I am at restrictions yet still measure all my protein. Eat 3 ounces of solid protein and then low fat/calorie vegetables until full. Your first fill may not give you restriction, in fact it took me 6 months to get restriction. Again, the band is meant to work with solid food. You cannot survive for ever on liquids. As anyone who lost weight on slimfast will tell you when you go back to solids you will gain weight.

thx for the advice, I think from what I'm reading here I will take it easy for the first week and do protein shakes and liquids as you all say afterall there are stitches in there to heal. I mean my surgeon is reputable and I have confidence in him I guess he just does things differently. I met with him today and his nutritionist. I only have 5 more days to go on liquid diet. I've had to eat 3 protein bars during the process as I was not getting enough calories and felt like the passing out stage so he okayed it. I actually found a protein shake I absolutely love so that is a good thing for me. thx again.

BTW-See page 24 and on in that manual from Peachtree.
I hear you when it comes to being hungry. I entered bandster hell(your in bandster hell already) the 2nd week too. I think I was more hungry than before. But, for me, I wasn't able to eat nearly as much as before. Even though I had no restriction, I felt satiated quicker and it lasted longer. I was still able to lose 12 lbs the first month.
Try to eat healthy foods and don't beat yourself up if you consume too much. It could be a while before you find your "Green zone".

I would think the consumption of the shakes that have artificial sweetners in place of sugar would be what might be scarey. You could get meal replacement shakes that dont have the articificial sweetners, maybe Ensure? Boost?

I have to agree with Jess55. Granted I'm no doctor, but unless your surgeon gets you back onto real food a lot faster than mine did, I don't see how you could get enough nutrients to adequately meet a baby's nutritional needs with breast milk.
Have you meet with the nutrionist? They would be the one to tell you if the lack of nutrients will effect your baby.
Again, this is strictly my opinion, but if I were in your shoes I'd halt the diet until you talk to the nutrionist about this issue specifically.
    Best wishes to you.

I think it depends on what type of shakes your Dr/intuitionist recommends.
I go to true results, and they don't sell shakes, but my nutritionist recommends EAS Advantedge shakes, which are lower cal, low carb, no sugar, and high protein... she also like pretty much all of the EAS line (Myoplex, etc)
Some shakes can have alot of sugar in them == lots of carbs, but also lots of protein. Then there are some that are "zone" balanced... higher protein, but also some carbs and fat....
