Smoking....
In my opinion set a stop date and quit. If you can do it cold turkey, then maybe try an alternative. I quit 13 months ago cold turkey and it was the best thing that I could have ever done. No withdrawals. Good luck to you.

switching from band to sleeve
I'm shooting for a December date for revision band to sleeve. I lost around 50 lbs and most of the weight is back even with compliance and fills. I have been having follow- ups every month since banding I'm in debt. My new physician says that he does not do bands anymore because the success rate is poor. Then there is chance for slippage and erosion the longer the band remains inside. My qualifications for sleeve are only EGD and nutrition consult then submit, and I have an appointment for both this week wed and Fri. Good luck with whatever surgery everyone chooses.

Yes it passed thank God, and I will be more careful. My daughter was banded on 8/1/14 she was scared for me but it was an learning experience for her to know what not to do. Thanks for your help.

I was belching, sliming and had an awful pain in my chest.

sliming, pbing and stuck episode
Two years post-op and I had my first pbing episode. My question is does this damage/effect your band in any way? I'm afraid I might have messed up my band. I have been on clear liquids all day. My episode lasted at least 30 minutes, that was awful.

cc's in band
I was told that I had 7.5 cc's in my band at true result Houston, not that they ever pulled it all out. My daughter is scheduled to be banded 6/27/14 by my physician, so he asks how I was doing and of course I told him that I had not lost any weight in over a year. I also started to gain weight recently, come to find out, he said that I'm not properly adjusted and that I only had 4.5 cc's in my band so he added 1cc that was too tight so he removed 0.5 cc's now I'm at 5cc and doing okay. The point is my doc says that if your are hungry before 1 pm than you are not adjusted correctly. The be in the green zone you should have not hunger under 1pm or after. Who would have known? hopefully the weight starts to fall off again. Also, he says if I have any issues have them contact him directly and that makes me feel so much better knowing he will be looking over me even though I'm 2 years out.

My First Plateau
Been on a plateau since Dec 2012 so of course I'm frustrated. I really believe I'm stuck here. Exercising whole time, watching calories, carb cycling, etc. Going for fill Tuesday hope it helps. Good luck any advice I will truly appreciate it. Even my PA can't figure it out.

Dr. Reilly with True Results Houston?
Banded by Dr. Reilly in 2012. He is very caring and knowledgeable. I trusted him and he took care of me because I was so scared of surgery, but everything went ok.

I am a living witness.......
For those of you struggling with weight loss the solution may be that you are too tight. Tighter is not always better it can halt your progress. I was at a plateau for 5 months which is very unusual. Although band functioning properly no weight loss. I remember when I was at 6.8 cc I was averaging 13 lbs a month but I was hungry and after getting continuous fills, result = no weight loss. I got up to 7.5 cc, now I'm back to 6.8 cc with good restriction. I like others thought tighter would make weight come off. Bander's don't be deceived find your green zone, losing weight and changing eating habits is the solution. I am happy to announce after being back at 6.8 cc I have lost a total of 11.4 lbs, 1 inch off breast, 1 1/2 inches off waist, 2 1/4 inches off thighs, 1 inch off calves and 1 1/2 inches off hips in 1 week following diet and moderate exercise. I am officially down 70 lbs. Good luck to all on your journey and I hope this information is helpful to some of you. Listen to your body and you will do great.

very sick-does coughing affect the band
Yes it can. I had them remove fluid because if u tight and coughing could get small dilation. With less fluid Np say I should be fine.

March Bandsters!
1. Log everything you eat. 2. Exercise, always use variety because your body will adjust to same workout. 3. 64 oz liquids I use crystal light, Hawaiian punch, mio, anything sf. I hate straight water so Dr. Said its ok. 4. I eat bread like thin bagels and add low fat cream cheese. 5. If I have a snack its 100 Cal or less. Low carb and low fat. 6. I eat tuna and cranberries for lunch at least 3 days a week. 7. I aim for 72 gms protein specified for my current weight. 8. Pasta and rice maybe once a month if at all. Good luck. Hope this help I am one year out but still learning.

SF hot chocolate?
Sf cocoa and Sf pudding is full liquid. Clear liquids you can see through them.

I need a refill but is something wrong with my band?
I can have bread and I eat thin bagels with no distress. Two sandwiches is a bit at one setting. I have 7.1 cc and I stay below 1 cup each setting. Always log everything you eat and measure. Good luck
