Hello!! Arizona Native Here! I'm Sooo A Newbie!!

Recommended Posts

Hello all!! Well lets just say I'm getting ready to embark on a freakin adventure.. and need all the support and advice I can get!! I am in the 'pre-op' stage - just last Monday I got the word that my insurance company approved me... and my surgery is set for December 27th... EEKS!! Talk about a Christmas gift right? :P Anywho - the only catch? Yup... gotta lose 25lbs.. the surgeon wants my BMI under 50 before he operates... so I'm trying like a mad woman to get these pounds off... and well this is the first time EVER I have stuck to anything with this much motivation.. I've lost 10 lbs just this past week... just another 15 in the next 20 days right?? Oh lord.. I am keeping it positive..

Anyhow I do hope to make some friends here - in Arizona as well as out there in cyberworld - who know EXACTLY what I'm going through - and what I'll be faced with.... Thanks again for reading!! Hope to hear from you soon!!

Toodles!!

Just me -

Bea

Hi Bea,

Congrats on the early Christmas gift news! I too live in Arizona (North East) and had my surgery Nov 17th. I go for my first fill Dec 19th and so far so good. Keep us posted on your pre-surgery weightloss and post op weightloss. We are all in it for the long haul.

Hi Bea and Elisabeth, I'm from AZ too, about 60 miles S/E of Phoenix in a little po-dunk town called florence. I had my surgery 8/19/11 and am stoked about it each and every day.

I still have along way to go, but am confident I can do it.

I wish you both the best of luck and what a great holiday gift to receive.

Keep in touch.

Zil

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
