Got My 1st Lap Band Fill And Still Not Full!

Recommended Posts

I got my 1st fill 1 week ago and I still am not getting the full sensation and I can still eat quite a bit of food. I dont know if they did not put enough into my band or what but I am worried that I am going to be one of the people that the band just doesnt work for me. Any advice feel free to give it please.

I think many have not had much sensation of restriction after the first fill, it can take up to 3 to 4 fills before this happens, but its very individual. Pateince and moderation is the key to getting through these times till u get to your sweet spot. Most Surgeons proceed with caution for the fills so as to not cause you any problems. Just give it time and i am sure you will be ok :)

You would be unusual if

you did have restriction after one fill.it typically takes several unless you are extremely lucky

Be patient! That's why fills are considered "adjustments"...it takes tweaking. You'll get there!

I also had my first fill three days ago. I am noticing a little more restriction than before. I am working very hard at being aware the moment I start to feel full in my chest / upper stomach area. That's when I stop eating. I dont have full restriction, but I dont eat like I did before. But I still get hungry. It's been a great start though.

Took me 6 months of getting fills every 3-4 weeks to get restriction. If you have not done so yet buy a good digital food scale. Measure out your Protein (my doctor says 3 oz) and then eat low cal/ carb veggies (no butter/cream). I don't think enough doctors tell people this is a will power diet at the begining.

It's a Fill after Fill process, so you will have a few more before you feel restriction.

This is the Norm, so,,, your fine.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
