Lots of encouraging advice all over the board. There is a section with success stories, before and after pictures and lots of threads talk about the surgery and the aftermath. I was excited and nervous for my surgery. It has been all good so far with the first week after surgery being a bit harder for me than some, it still wasn't unbearable. Nearly 3 weeks out and I am feeling like myself, losing weight, feeling MUCH better after the weight loss, having small non scale victories like smaller clothes and such. Just read around the site and you can find lots of inspiration and help. Good luck to you.

Hey there!

My surgery is also set for 10/18. I start my 2 week pre-op liquid diet tomorrow (10/4). GOOD LUCK TO BOTH OF US!

I can't say I'm really nervous, isn't that crazy? I'm excited, that's for sure. More nervous about my success rather than the surgery itself.

My date is 11/28 !! so i will be looking at all you october banders for support! i am really nervous but excited mostly! just think of how you will be this time next year! or even a few months from now, concentrate on that bit rather than the surgery! This is just the beginning of a new life for you! one small little hurdle, you will be put to sleep, then 1...2...3... and its all done.. well as far as it concerns us anyway!! so best of luck, try to calm your nerves and imagine all the good things coming out of this amazing once in a lifetime experience! better health, longer life, better looks! more confidence, and the ability to lead a normal happy life looking and feeling AMAZING!!

and keep in contact with all us fellow bandees if it helps!

GOOD LUCK!!!! IT WILL ALL BE FINE!! xx

I am being banded on 10/17 and started my pre-op diet yesterday. I have to say I am excited as well. The surgeon doing my surgery did my gall-bladder surgery back in 1996 and I have complete confidence in him. The pre-op diet is not as hard as I thought it would be. The hardest part is the caffeine withdrawal. I went cold-turkey and boy did I get a headache!

I was banded September 29th :P . I was nervous up until a few days before surgery. I began to get excited. My surgery was a breeze, spent a couple of days on the couch and slept a lot. Now, I'm five days in, I am going by all the post-op rules and feeling good overall. So far I can say it was worth it. I researched LapBand surgery and knew it is right for me.

Now, if you truly believe its right for you, go for it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
