I had my surgery yesterday and I knew there would be pain. I just wanted to know if what I am going through is normal. For the most part I feel like my stomach is crampy and tight. I can't tell if I am hungry or full. When I take a sip of Water or broth I feel it going all the way down. It's an odd feeling. Anyone have some info or suggestions? Thanks.

Well Joe, lets see, you just had 4 or 5 holes cut in your stomach, you were pumped up with gas, you had a camera and a bunch of

tools stuck in there. Then they put a band around part of your belly and you wonder why you feel strange? I can't imagine.

You'll be up and around before you know it, hang in there. Everyone goes through the same thing.

I would also like to know if anyone else feels this bad. I am pre-surgery and would like to know what to expect.

Yup. Sounds normal to me. It'll be over before you know it.

Yeah. Im feeling pretty bad. Im 2 days postop. The pain/nausea/indigestion, etc comes in waves. I did not prepare myself mentally for the pain afterwards. But I can say, I feel much better than I did yesterday, and hope tomorrow will be even better. Good luck to you.

Thanks everyone. I knew it was most likely normal but I just enter to see if any one else felt te same. That pain isn't horrible. Just very crampy. My main concern was was the whole, feeling full but being hungry thing. Thanks again!

Its very normal. I had bad shoulder gas pain and stomach bloating for about 7 days. And at 5 weeks post-op i still get some pains here and there. The tylenol w/ codeine they gave me did absolutely nothing, but make me sleepy. I had no interest in food either, which i guess is a good thing. But it does get better each day!

Its very normal.... the first few days I could barely drink 20 oz per day! I was banded on a Thursday and returned to work on Wednesday.... finally felt like myself about 10 - 14 days post op.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
