There's no way I could have. It took me a solid week to feel good. Even then stuff wore me out. Hopefully you don't have the same experience. Everyone is totally different.

I was banded on sept. 16 and honestly 3 days out I felt better but wasn't able to do a whole lot. I thankfully didn't get the pain in my shoulder and I walked as much as possible evn if it was just walking up and down the hallway of my apartment. Also because of where the port was placed if I sat up more than about 30min. I was in a lot of pain. By day 5 I didn't need any pain medication but I did tire very easily. I would say see how you feel. Don't try to over do it. Maybe explain to your friend ahead of time so she knows you may not attend. And if you can tolerate the pain maybe take your pain meds and just go for a litttle while and see how you feel. Just remember you are healing and you can't rush that process.

I was off the pain meds on Day 2 in the evening and back to work on day 4. As long as you aren't up running around during the shower and playing hostess you should be fine. Take a nap when you get home.

This does not come with a on /off switch for the pain. You never know how you will feel Make sure that your pain medication works, if not call the Dr., and let him know (I HAD TO !)

If your Dressed Comfortable and do a lot of relaxing, I would think you should be fine.

Just remember ! Your stitched inside, and stapled outside, So I would stay away from to many hugs.

If they wonder what's up with that ? Just tell them you had your Appendix out, So your sore, and have to be careful.

That they will understand.

You can sip Water with a twist of Lime or Lemon. No One will know. Now dinner ? You will have to tell them that with the surgery

you have to stay on Fluids, take a drink or 2 with you.

Hope you enjoy yourself, just not to hard on yourself o.k....

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
