How long did it take you?

Recommended Posts

It took me about 3 fills and 1 unfill to get to the green zone. My doctor put a small bit of Fluid in my band at surgery time, so it didn't take too much tweeking, but right now I have 5.5 cc's in a 10cc band.

Remember that everyone is different. I know some people with 7.5 ccs and some with higher amounts and that is what brought them to the Green Zone. Some I know with less, so there is no way to know what will work for you without a bit of trial and error.

Good Luck to you!!

Same as above for me. I've had 3 fills and one slight unfill. I feel I'm good and right now am in no need of a fill. I'm about 5.25cc's in a 10cc band.

Like PalmBayTrish said, everyone is different, but I know it's nice to get an idea of what other people's experiences are :) I am not totally sure what size band I have, it's either 11ccs or 14ccs. I currently have just under 5ccs in my band right now and I think it took like 7 fills. I was really close to the green zone, and have always lost pretty well, so my doctor was only giving me tiny fills. I think I am either at the green zone now, maybe a little over. Good luck to you!

4? 5? I'm at 7.75cc's and to be honesty I'm not convinced I'm there yet. But the PA at my practice said if I have any more fills I have to meet with their nutritionist first because I'm getting "close to the capacity" of my band. With an 11cc band I doubt that, but I'm not thrilled about having to meet with this nutritionist since my original nutritionist just left the practice and this girl doesn't know me at all.

Well I was at over 10 cc's before I even felt any restrictionangry.gif & this took about 1 & 1/2 years.... try real hard not to worry about the "number" it will just make you nuts. blink.gif Everyone is different, have you noticed that you are starting to go longer w/out feeling hungry? I felt that before the restriction/green spot! smile.gifYou have to work at it too, it is still just a tool....I know I hate that line too! & really LOOK at your numbers! Pat yourself on the back. YOU have lost almost 60 lbs since May & that is crazy fast.biggrin.gif..I know it is hard, but your band is working & you are obviously working hard too!

I've had 5 fills so far. I don't have "restriction" in the sense that I can eat any food without a problem, but I find that I am satisfied with smaller amounts of food and I can go longer between meals without being "hangry" (I love that word, describes my hunger to a tee!). My PA doesn't tell me how much Fluid is in my band or what size it is, but at my last fill she said I have "plenty of room left." Either I've been getting tiny fills or I have a huge band!

I just went in for a fill on Monday I was at 7cc and now im 7.75cc. I have a 10cc band. I can certainly feel it now. I can't tell yet if Im in the red or green zone yet, im still on my liquids. I can drink Water fine so far..but I can feel it is tight. When I was at 7cc it felt tight but the feeling went away in a few days. So Im hoping this tight felling will go away soon also.

I have had 3 fills and now at 5.8cc in my 10cc band. I think before my last fill I was just about in the green and she put 1cc in, so now I think I am good. At times I think I may be a little tight. But I'm comfortable where I am now. Good Luck!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
