I everyone, I had my LB on Monday 8/15. Besides a couple od days of being very uncomfortable (which i expected). Last night i got a lump in my thoat, about where the Adams apples is. Its so annoying is there something going on here. I sure hope it doesn go on to much longer. It is not restriction - its way to high for that. Thank you!!

Call your doctor, please! After I had my surgery I had terrible gas pains, and everyone said it was normal. Not their fault, it was based on their personal experience. I knew it wasn't right. The last thing I thought it could be was restriction, right? WRONG! There was Fluid in my band after surgery. . My Doctor also said their could be air in the band as well. I had the fluid removed and still had to spend 10 hours in the ER! It was worth it because I feel better. I am not saying this is the case with you, but whatever it is, don't rely on the forum, call your doctor!

Sorry all I think you misunderstood me. I have what feels like a lump in my throat, i can drink and there is not a blockage. I am doing rather fantasic to be honest. Just feels like there is like Flem or something there. I had googled this question and had many people say they had the same thing. Some for a long time some for just a few weeks. I am seeing the doctor today so i will report back. Thank you all so much!!

It's quite normal. During surgery you were intubated and that can cause some scar tissue in your throat, which - disgustingly enough - can 'catch' drippage from your nose, which means it's likely you do have phlegm in there. Drink some hot tea with honey to help clear it up.

Yep I agree,, It's something tied into the band, swelling, or above. Check with your Doctor, and see what he says.

Part of my stomach is pulled up over the band, and then stitched. I also hear this helps prevents slippage. I hope that's true.

I constantly feel like I have a knot in my throat, but that's me......

You will find out ! As long as you are clear, that's a plus.

Yes, please let us all know. It probably does have to do with the intubation, but I am sure your doctor can tell you exactly what it is. We're all waiting ;-)

Yes, indeed it was about the Flem from the incubation. And today its gone. It might come back until it heals completely. Thank you for your advice.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
