  1. Hi everyone, so happy to read this post. I too have had no fills, I am almost 3 mos out 8/15/11. i have lost 32 pounds and still losing (2.66lb per week). I eat 1200-1700 cal. a day, I play tennis and walk alot. i log my food everyday. I do feel restriction and have slimmed a couple of times from eating too fast. I have only 30 pounds to go and here is my concern: What if after I lose all this weight I cannot stop losing? I figure I will just drink ensure or eat more calories. However, I do get full fast and it does get painfull if i eat too much. I was hoping someone would tell me if they have hit thier goal with a fill and NOW what!! Thank you all so much for your advice. Have a wonderful day!! And congrats to all of you!!
  2. WOW Kelly you read my mind. I have been the same weight for 3 weeks, I have lost a total of 26 since aug 1, and had surgery aug 15th. I have great restriction and will not need a fill (ever hopefully). I have gotten stuck a couple of time sonly when eating too fast. I play tennis 2 times a week, walk 5 times a week and ride my recumbent bike 2 times a week. My calories have been at 1400 everyday give or take a couple of calories. Everyone says something different so I don’t know what to do. I currently weigh 206 lbs. I am 5'10 and I would say I do moderate activities. I know my body is shrinking and I am now a size 14. I am self pay and my goal is 170 lbs. Can you think of anything I am missing - oh yes, I do Calorie count site everyday and get all A's except when I have a few drinks every couple of weeks..lol. I know "slow and steady wins the race" but I am frustrated and I thank you so much for your advice. Thank you for your post and I pray I can up my calories more, I really have NO Appetite! But, do my best to eat really healthy food. I think my weakness is chips and salsa. I do love that. Anything you can help with I would so appreciate !! thank you!!
  3. Hi, Ok, love Margarita so much. I have been banded aug 15th and have ONLY drank 3 times.. all of which I got drunk. I would lov ethat recipe please!!!! Thank you!!
  4. Thank you somuch for replying. I will wait to hear what he says!! Maybe we will just have to eat more ... very interested to know. You have a new life..Now exciting!! Good Luck!!!
  5. congrats!! Ok, my question is this: So you hit your goal without a fill. so will you continue to keep losing like you have. I mean i have 35 lbs to lose and I am ok to sty that way forever. Will you keep losing? Will this be a problem? Sorry to sound so worried but what happenes after ai am done losing??!! thanks!
  6. Hi everyone! I am 8 weeks post-op (aug 15) and feeling fabulous! My question is can i be OK with not ever having a fill? I have restriction and have never had a fill. I have lost over 25 pounds and my doctor says if i am losing no fill is needed. I have what he called a standard size lap band with no fill. Since the beginning i have felt restriction and some days more than others. I have had 2 stuck episodes which i threw up and felt better but a little sore that day and the next day. Has anyone else never NOT have a fill? I will be OK if i continue down this path (2 lbs a week). I wonder if I am just being extremely optimistic thinking this way. I am also self pay. Thanks for all your good advice~~
  7. P.S. You are doing great btw with you weight loss (i just saw your stats)!! good job!
  8. Seriously i am not judging you. But why would you start those bad habits (drugs that didnot work)after you have been banded? Thats why you got banded to learn a new way of eating and get healthy right? I would not do anything to hurt your band. you have to treat it well and do what you are supposed to do to make good decisions toward your healthy NEW lifestyle. Good luck and keep healthy!! Don't take those!!
  9. I have an appointment for tuesday, I am 4 weeks (8/15)post op. I am losing weight (of course not as fast as I would like) and feel restriction at 1 cup of food(eating very healthy). I am never hungry and feel the best I have ever felt. My band was regular size and no fill what so ever. Do you think it could be possible I may never need a fill? Or at least not for 2 more weeks? Right now i am in a good way. I think I'll put it off until after my trip I will be at 6 1/2 weeks at that time.
  10. I have the same concern. I have an appointment for tuesday, I am 4 weeks (8/15)post op. I am losing weight (of course not as fast as I would like) and feel restriction at 1 cup of food. I am never hungry and feel the best I have ever felt. My ban was regular size and no fill what so ever. Do you think it could be possible I may never need a fill? Or at least not for 2 more weeks? Right now i am in a good way. I think I'll put it off until after my trip it will be 6 1/2 weeks at that time.
  11. I am almost 4 weeks out. I think you are going to be just fine. I hurt mine really back about 2.5/ with crazy sex (sorry about TMI). I called the nurse the next day, becasue I was so sore and in pain. She said not to worry, that port is sewn in so well with mesh it wont flip and you didnt do anything. Thank GOd i was really worried. So i told hubby no more until 3 weeks, dr. said 2 weeks. Anyway.. dont worry, i was so sure I did something terrible to it.. relax and heal! sure enough by the next 2 days it was no pain and back healing right..
  12. Thank for your input. I should not be obsessed with the number and keep eating right. I think so far its been very easy with the help of my beloved LP. lol I do eat plenty of protein and really love my shakes. I guess i have heard so much about not letting your body go into starvation mode. And that i should be eating 1700 calories. I am 5'10 214. GOSH..thats hard with me to eat that much. (now) Thanks again!! and you all have done so well you should be so proud of yourself. I know the LP helps but there is a lot of good choices and discipline with this journey. Good Luck and God bless!
  13. Hi, First of all I want to thank all you veterans LP’er for all the help thorough this journey. It’s been such a great support and help to me to read these post. So I am 3 and ½ weeks post op. I lost 7 pounds pre surgery and only 10 pounds this last 24 days. I just weighed in and feel horrible, I was only down that much. It’s the same as I was when I went in for my 1 week post op appointment. Now, I know that the 1st. month is for healing but I have been exercising (walking & biking stationary) since the first week appt. and I have been eating 1000-1300 calorie (only healthy - not one bad food). Also, I am full after about 1 cup of food. I might not even need a fill. My question is: do you think I am NOT eating enough calories? I have read this and people have said this. Please let me know what you think the problem is. I really value your options. I love my LP and I am self pay. My BMI is 32 (was 33) I would be happy to lose 40lbs. and keep it off. I have battled with weight my whole life with gaining and losing then gaining. Thank you all again!! I wish you all so much happiness and success in your life!
