Getting discouraged :(

Recommended Posts

I started my liquid diet last Monday. I lost 4 lbs in the first 4 days and I thought things were going great but I haven't lost a pound since. I think I may be retaining Water but who knows. I spoke to my surgeon about it and he said that my body may recognize the starvation causing my metabolism to slow. I can't help but think "if my metabolism is slowing now without the band is it going to be just as bad if not worse when I can only use a portion of my stomach?" My surgery is in 6 days and though I'm excited to shed the lbs and start a new chapter in my life I don't want to go through with this if it's not gonna work :(

I did the same thing. I lost 5 lbs the first 5 days and gained 1 back today. I have my surgery tomorrow. Keep your head up. It will all work out.

I didn't do to good on my pre op diet as far as weight loss goes, after the surgery the pounds started dropping. You will do fine! Just listen to your doctor. Have a very successful journey!

The pre-op has nothing to do with the post op. It's simply to shrink your liver and prevent complications during surgery. You'll introduce real food and exercise, you'll be fine. A positive attitude goes a long way as well. You'll be fine :)

also, dont be alarmed but after surgery once you start eating mushies and soft foods you may also gain weight. your body is going to go thru and adjustment phase, so dont be alarmed.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
