Something stuck in esophagus at night

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I was banded July, 2008. When I sleep at night it feels like something is stuck in my esophagus. At first I thought I was eating to late, so I stopped that. It is toward the top and happens most night. Once I am up moving around it will go away.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I don't think so. I take medication for the acid reflux

Hi, I am not qualified to give any medical advice, but I would encourage you to check with your surgeon's office. Especially if this is new for you. Please let us know. All the best to you!

Melinda

This will sound gross, but it could be congestion. I get that a lot at night and worried about what would happen after the band. Now i just work harder to get it out as soon as I feel it.:cryin::puke:

I've started having the same problem and haven't been able to come up with an answer. My mom is a GI nurse and said it could be a sign of acid reflux, which I've also started getting recently. I have a doctor's appointment next week and am going to ask about it.

I have that problem but mine is all day and night. My surgeons office told me to see my GP about it. My band is not too tight it just constantly feels like a lump in my throat. :o

Hey guys I just read a post about someone who was feeling really sick and stuck and they couldn't figure out why for a long time..... finally they found out that she had a LOT of congestion, drained her and now she is good as new!

I was having bad issues at about 4:30am this morning with congestion as well. I am pretty convinced now that that is what it is... if that's the case, then the good news is it will probably go away! I wonder if they have Musinex kinda stuff that is not huge horse pills...?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
