Recommended Posts

is it normal that it is taking so long for the swelling to go down. takes about an hour to get in a Protein Shake and 2 bites of mushies and i am full. I know I am no where near the minumum Protein and calorie intake for the day but it just won't go in

You will need to get your Protein in because it is very importantto the healing process. An hour for a shake isn't bad, Are you on mushies yet? If so you'll need to find ways to get a high level of protein in. Can you mix the Unjury in with SF Jello? My NUT recommended that post op. As long as the proetin levels are good you should be fine. It can take up to 5 weeks for the swelling to settle down. Get yr protein in though!

Its okay if it's because you're full, that's what the band does. But if 2 bites of mushies literally wont go down then you have a problem.

Tammy,,hi! Have you had your follow up visit with your Doc yet? How much Protein are you managing to get in a day?

Make sure you work at getting your Protein in first. Even if you mix a shake and every 10 minutes or whatever, take a swallow or 2,

Then you can work on your mushies.

Yes have you see your Doc. lately? You can explain this to her.

I see the doctor for my first follow up visit, I am trying with my Protein but the shakes are beginning to sicken me with just the thought but I did eat a meatball friday night and broiled fish last night which seemed to be ok.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
