I was banded in late December 2009. I have lost only 44 lbs! I did not receive a fill until 4 to 5 months after my surgery. I currently have 12 ccs in a band that holds 14. I have had a hard time sticking to an exercise regiment, and I am truly frustrated. Any suggestions? Someone please help me!

Hi MaryKay,

I just had my surgery May6th 2011 and just started exercising last week. This is what has worked for me....I get up early and walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes and I do it again at night when I get home for work. It hurts and I have no endurance yet but it is my priority everyday regardless. I don't focus on the scale just how I feel, what goes in my mouth and that I keep moving some everyday. This new lifestyle is so different for me but I will tell as much as my legs hurt ....I feel better everyday and that is what keeps me going. I hope you can just pick one thing to get you RESTARTED and I am sure you will get excited again about getting healthy. Good luck to you.....HANG IN THERE!

When was the last time you went in to see your lapband doc? If it's been awhile you may need a little bit of a fill to get the weightloss going again.

Agree! Switching it up keeps me motivated - running, mountain biking, boot camp and TRX keep me on my toes.

Also finding an activity that you love to do and can make friends doing...mountain biking has opened up a whole new world of friends/mentors. We are always going out for some adventure!

Good luck -

PS - I keep motivated knowing how good I feel after I workout!

Agree - switching up is a good idea -I travel a lot with my job so out of town I use the eliptical machine and tread mill - at home I swim in my pool - and create my own Water aerobics as well as Water weights - just keep moving in the water - Once you get past the first two weeks of commiting yourself to doing soem sort of excercse at least 3-4 xs a week it gets much easier and you even start looking forward to it. Hope this helps

I saw my doctor 2 weeks ago. He scheduled an upper GI to make sure my pouch is not enlarged. Thanks you all for the responses!

I felt like my Weight loss had been slow too, then after a talk with my Doc i fully committed my self to exersize. food wasnt so much of the issue it was the lack of exersize. Its a daily routine that is just as important as showering now lol

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
