First fill question

Recommended Posts

I had my first fill today...just need to know if I am thinking about this correctly. I had 3 cc's put in but that doesn't mean there is 3 cc's in the band right? I mean doesn't the tubing have to fill up before there would be Fluid in the actual band??

Thanks for the help.

Hi Mom,

I'm no expert but I think that when people say how much they have in their band - they are referring to how much has been put in (regardless of how much might be in the tubing). So you would be at 3CCs.

It didn't occur to me that the tubing would actually retain saline as well. Does anyone know if it is a significant amount or perhaps just a mili-cc or something like that?

Usually they leave air at the plunger end of the needle so when the saline is inserted it all goes in to the band. If you ever notice when they unscrew the plastic part and leave the needle in during a fill if there was any Fluid left in the tubing it would leak out. Its all in there all 3cc's of it.

I had my fill yesterday. The doctor told me there is already 2ccs in the band, and they fill you with 3cc's, so the total amount of cc's in your band is 5cc's. I hope that helps.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
