Please Help this is SO STRANGE!!

Recommended Posts

I was banded on Thursday. I have been able to handle the pain. So here is the problem: everytime I lay down to rest and then get up I get SUPER nauseated. I haven't thrown-up. Why is this only happening when I wake up or get-up ? It is scaring me!!!

I called my doc and he called in a stronger anti-nausea med.

Has this happenend to anyone else?

Thanks so much,

Melinda

P.S. I have had nothing today except Water, apple juice, and a popsicle.

do you lie flat? i had to elevate my head when lying down for the first couple of months after surgery. the position gave my stomach a chance to calm down and keep from being irritated by extreme positional changes. also try drinking something warm when you first get up

Thsisme,

Thanks so much for responding....I am worried.

I have been laying flat ( I will use pillows from now on) but it just happened again while getting up from for a sitting position.

It is awful.

It's trial and error you will learn, it's a journey, the beginning is the worst it gets better

I had to wear a patch behind my ear after my surgery to control nausea. Did you happen to get that? I was talking to one girl in the waiting room and she was like you AND she had the patch, they told her to remove the patch and it solved it for her, her patch was actually making her sick.

Do you happen to be on other meds (like blood pressure) you could be reacting to those on an empty stomach. (something your probably not used to this soon)

I would have the same problem in the beginning upon waking and my doctor said that there is mucus in the stomach and you can feel it moving around sometimes. I have adopted the habit of always drinking something hot in the mornings, whether it is coffee or tea and it helps tremendously. I can't eat for the day unless I have that morning hot drink.

Hope it gets better for you!!

I would think it's because you are not eating as much so instead of getting light headed you get a little naush!?!? Hope the medicine helps some.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
