I am sostalled out it's pathetic. My problem right now seems to be alack of appetite and being too tight (that TOM), but I want to snack. On carbs. It's so hard. I need to kick myself in the butt. We leave for a 2 night cmaping trip tomorrow and I MUST behave.

Also...something odd...I'm having trouble with soft meats. Like turkey sausage, ground up reformed pork (which was nasty anyway so no big loss lol)...I'm ok with ground turkey & chicken. I wonder if the other meats are "doughy?"

your band is probably to tight... they tell me all the time if I cant eat meat I need to have some taken out... hope that helps!

Im down 30 lbs today. Would have been more but I over indulged in too much cake and ice cream for my sons birthday. I believe that those with the big numbers are counting their pre-op diet right? I've also noticed that some drs require a few days of liquids after fills, which makes the weight drop quicker.

I am counting my pre-op diet in my weight loss because I feel like it was part of the journey. If I don't I am pretty much at the same place everyone seems to be which is about 25-30lbs lost. Everything had been going pretty well for the last few weeks and then I must have eaten something that got stuck..I'm really restricted and can only tolerate liquids for the last 5 days :( I don't want to go to the doc because I will probably have to start from square one again (I only have 3ccs in my band). I don't know if I will ever get used to the inconsistencies--restricted/no restriction...maybe it will even out eventually.

Hi everyone!

I've been having a heck of a time. Mostly stress, I fear. I feel like I'm back on track and am really focusing on band rules: not drinking during/after a meal, only 3 meals a day, cutting way back on snacking that got out of hand. I'm back to 266 (I tend to jump up to 274 pretty easily) and am seeing the scale move down. I truly stay full for 4+ hours if I follow rules. I reminded myself of soemthign last night: this journey began for me the last couple days of 2010...and 6 months later (well 5 1/2) I'm still going, still losing. My record before the band is 1-2 months of "dieting" then gaining back everything plus a bunch. So 5 1/2 months, over 30 pounds in all...before the band I'd be lucky to make it to minus 20-23 pounds then crash and burn. So, I'm looking at this as a huge success so far. I want to start losing again though so am really working at it again.

Our cat Bromley never came home, and his sister was so mournful that we brought home 2 new tiny kittens to keep her company. Pandie and Pandora. My 6 yo was having a tantrum, causing me to carry him down the hall, and I stepped on Pandie. 10 minutes later I watched him die. It absolutely crushed me (pardon the pun). I know it was an accident, but I've never ever hurt an animal like that before. I wrapped him in a white eyelet sheet I used to have on our youngest son's toddler bed and sat with him on the porch for awhile. Anyway, I'll always wonder if he wouldn't have been hurt so bad if I wans't so fat. I guess that's helped me get back on track band wise.

Oh Marcy that is terrible. It was only an accident, don't beat yourself up too much about it. It was not your weight, the same thing could have happened with your 6 year old stepping on it.

You are absolutely right about this being a different weight loss journey than you've experienced before. Just remember it took years to put it on...losing it slowly will help to adjust our behaviors and help us deal with the root of the problem. Hang in there.

So sorry about Pandie.

This band is the best thing I have ever done for myself. I struggled with my weight for most of my life, trying diet after diet, with no success. I was banded on 3/1/2011 and have lost over 100 lbs. I never felt this good about myself in my entire life. I have so much more ambition to go out and be active and do things that I never had before. My days of sitting on the couch watching tv and eating are over. I exercise 2 miles every day and am working up to do a 5K hopefully by next spring. I hope no one thinks I am trying to brag or gloat. I just had to Celebrate and share some success.

The journey hasnt been easy and I have hit a few bumps in the road but overall I am loving this. If anyone is in the Chicago area and wants to join me in my 5K let me know, we are in this together.

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!! SO PROUD OF YOU MAN! I am down to 385.6 lbs. I began at 468. Doing GOOD! :) I know exactly what you mean. I wake up each day enjoying my life now. Looking forward to doing things. Just living. Not existing! BUT LIVING! I to am going to work up to a 5K. I do not live in Chicago or would be glad to join you. I also don't know about RUNNING a 5K. But I am certainly going to walk 5K as quickly as I can and see what happens. I am going to be using a program called "COUCH TO 5K" it's an Android App. Don't know if it will help you but thought I'd offer. Fantastic way to go my new friend!!! Keep up the amazing work. If your ever in Central Florida. (Near Disney) let me know! Take care!

Hi all. I was banded 3/18 and I'm just now reached -31lbs. Feeling kinda behind. I struggle getting some food down especially in the morning, I've been eating a lot of salmon lol. I don't really "see" the weight I lost but I feel it in my clothes. (can hardly keep my pants up)

Congrats to everyone!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
