How to Reduce Post-Banding Flatulence?

Recommended Posts

There is a Gas-X called Gas-X prevention that you take right before you eat a meal you think will cause gas. It seems to work really well. If I were you I'd just take it before every meal for a few days and then see if it's getting any better.

So true!! I was having the same problem - glad I'm not the only one laugh.gif

I was using Benefiber to help with the Constipation that also comes along with the band. Lets just say....there was a lot of noise but not a lot of action. if you know what I mean....

I tried some probiotic pearls. they are nice because they don't have to be refrigerated. within a day or two - i noticed the noise level dropped almost to nothing (just the occasional squeak) and other things started moving along more regularly. if you know what I mean.....

good luck!

cheers,

chloe

Get rid of gas! Nonsense. Nothing feels better that breaking out the ole butt trumpet and ripping out a new tune. Good for the soul.

Me, too. I've tried some of the pills, but I only got minimal help. The weird thing is that it doesn't seem to be related to anything I eat. It's pretty much constant. I will try the lemon juice. Any other ideas? I'm getting tired of being teased by my teenage sons! It's pretty bad when you can outfart an 18 year old boy!

Both of my parents who have had WLS, take activated charcoal pills. My mother suggested them to me when I told her about the gas issue post-surgery. I have yet to purchase them but she said they have really helped her. Hope this helps.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
