TTC # 2, unmotivated, been a bad bandster

Hi there,

I have been a member on this site forever and haven't logged on in awhile. My son is 18 months old, he was a band baby, I had a great pregnancy, very little problems. I gained alot in my last trimester with him, and it's stuck around. I think hormones affect my band ALOT more after baby then they used to. I haven't had a fill in over a year because I go thru periods where my band is sooooo tight as it is, yet I am still hungry often and havne't lost weight in forever. My band will be super picky for 4-6 days in a row, then fine for a week or two, then bad again. It makes eating a total chore at this point. I was around 220 lbs after I had my son, then have crept back up to around 245.

So I'm not sure what exactly I'm looking for, maybe encouragement, maybe advice or tough love. We're gonna try to get pregnant with number 2 and I don't wanna balloon up...should I get a fill?

Honestly, maybe you should try to get the baby weight off first before TTC. I know its not the advice Im sure you want to hear, but you were banded for a reason, for weight loss and to be healthy. Getting a fill while TTC isnt going to be the answer, since you are already experiencing problems you'll more then likely have to get that Fluid removed again.

I know the struggle of wanting to lose weight but wanting another baby at the same time. I was banded and within 2 months I wanted to be pregnant so badly, but I told myself I had a ways to go, and that the end result was going to be soooo much more worth it. I lost 75lbs and thats when my husband and I TTC and because I did so well with my WL, I got pregnant within the first try :)

Good luck, and I hope you make the decision you feel is best for you :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
