Is it possible to over inflate the lap band?

Recommended Posts

So I'm sitting here getting ready for my fill on Friday when I calculate that I have 4cc'c in a 4cc band...

That would mean that I am at capacity..But I dont have restriction and want it desperately.

Is it possible to fill over the band's capacity? Would it rupture could it break if they put too much in??

Anyone know?

Hey Zen...is it possible they can go slightly over the actual band limit since there's Fluid in the tubing? I dunno...just a thought.

A 4 cc band? Wow...I didn't know they were still doing bands that small!

I have a 10 cc band. I ask my doctor that same question last year, and he told me yes they could go over by 2cc. At that time I was up to 8.5 got sick had 4 cc taken out. So I am scheduled to go not this fri but next fri to get another fill. I am only gonna ask for 2cc, do not want to be sick again.

I think I heard the tubing can hold 2cc before it even reached the band. .......but, do we all have different lengths of tubing between the port and the band?

Does the person who does your fills withdraw all the Fluid before doing the fill? The reason I ask is that maybe you don't have as much fluid in as you think...I have heard that from other people on this forum...

Yes my Doc takes the fluid out and puts it back in Your right even though I have had 2 fills and 1 pre-fill it may not equal 4cc because of the tubing

WOW! How did that feel? How did you know it burst? What did you have to do to fix it? That is really frightening! I also have a 4CC band, (from Mexico). I currently have 2.5 cc.

My surgeon said they can overfill a band to a certain degree. Not sure how much, but some.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
