Ugh..... I really need to do something with my digestive health. I only go to the bathroom about every 4 - 5 days. I don't really feel all that constipated, I'm not uncomfortable really, but I just don't go to the bathroom. Who else has this problem and what do you do?

I finally got benefiber off brand. I take 2 tbsp in my diet hot chocolate each morning. I FEEL so much better being regular again. I too was every 4 days or so. When I'd go I'd lose a lb!! LOL!

I just started it last week and I already notice the difference.

Benefiber is tasteless, odorless and gritless. You can add it to anything and not notice it at all.

I haven't tried the drink mix but I would go with the flavorless one in case you dont like the flavored drink mix.

How funny we all are having this problem right now. I have posted this recently too. Most of the things I have read on here are good suggestions. Yesterday out of me being desperate I tried 2 tbsp. of epsons salts. did nothing but make me poot. (LOL). Took 2 stool softeners last night. This am with coffee in me; NOTHING. I broke down and just back from the store. I went and bought milk of magnesia (store brand 3 dollars cheaper). I just took a big dose and I also bought the benefiber tasteless stuff. I just put 2 tsp. in my coffee. If I do not go with this I guess I will go get an enema. LOL. Good luck.

I have started adding powder (odorless, flavorless) Fiber to my Protein shakes. I am still in the liquids phase though, only 7 days post op. I am planning to continue having most of my breakfast's as Protein Shakes though since I love the taste and they are a quick fix in the morning. I was only going #2 every 4-5 days since I started my liquid diet but used to go every day before and was proud of that fact about myself. Lord knows I don't want to get constipated! UGH...Like the one person said, I don't want to gain poop weight! LOL :) Anyway, since adding the Fiber powder to my shakes I have started going every other day which is way better! You could add it to yogurt, pudding, oatmeal, just about anything. When I get to move on the "real food" I was thinking I'd add it to my chili and even gravy or some sauces whenever I have them. I really can't even tell it's in there except what happens on the "other end"

Good luck to you as taking care of your colon is so very important!

I have been using the FiberChoice gummies. They are really good and taste great too. I also have to take 4 stool softeners each day plus Miralax every other day. It seems like alot but it works for me so its okay. Every once in awhile I do have to take Milk of Mag too but not too often thank goodness! I hate that stuff. I think each of us has to find what works for them. Good luck!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
