Day 4 post-op and Im in pain!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! im on day 4 post op and feeling a lot of pain in my single incision.

I was doing some research about how well people usually recover after 4 days and I got kinda worried about the way I feel.

So here we go... I had only one incision right up my belly buttom, it has a bandage on it so Im not really able to see it... The pain comes and goes, but it bothers me to the point where I need my husband to help me get in/out the bed so I dont really force myself in the incicion area.

I heard people walking for hours throughout the day, but i just dont feel confortable enought to have more than 5-6 little 5 min walks around my bedroom per day.

Am I freeking out??? Since i got home on tuesday (my doc have all of his patients staying overnite at the hospital) , i got up to the my bedroom ( 2nd floor) and here I am still. It hurts my belly when I try to go down the stairs so I decided that i need more time to heal.

Am i being a big baby??? HELP!!!

:D Get up Girl you are being a big baby lol. Your feeling pain is normal but you got to get up and move if you dont it aint gonna get no better. 5 min little walks can end you up with worse than pain. You can get blood clots and pneumonia. Get up and get moving.

I was banded on the 29th. I also had a hernia repaired. It took a GOOD week to feel more like myself. I still have some tenderness on my right side. I had five holes, including my belly button. Hang in there - the worst is behind you - each day should get a little easier!

Take your pain meds and get up and moving - even it is only short 5 minute walks. The pain should be less each day. I know that everyones tolerance to pain is different but alot of my abdominal pain was gas pain and the only thing really to help with that is walking. Take your pain meds - I made the mistake of trying to get thru it without taking the narcotics - but trust me you will feel much better, you will be able to get some good sleep.

It will get easier, just hang in there.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
