I survived band removal surgery...

Recommended Posts

Vera, it was two whole days without a word out of me other than a couple grunts. Chris should have enjoyed it while it lasted because I'm already getting "lippy" with him so I must be getting better :P Yep, he was there for me the entire time, but I kept sending the poor guy away. He fretted and stewed and chewed his nails off but I just needed to be quarantined and left alone. He went shopping and brought me back 3 new gold charms for my Bracelet. Now you see why I keep the - what did you call him? Knucklehead!

I'll be great pretty soon and maybe even better than before. It's so nice coming home to my very own Tin Man, Scare Crow and Auntie Em

Lisa..I'm happy to hear you are home resting, I can so relate to the relief of having the band out of you once you know it is eroded. I felt the same way. Thanks for the phone calls , you know I'm here for you anytime. Call me day or night, we can fight this demon together. Much love for you :P

P.S. You definately were not your usual spunky self when you called Wednesday night..I can attest to you being not much for words..could of been al lthe good drugs they gave you though

Knuddlehead(nud’el-head) 1)must go through penis to get to the brain. 2)cross between noodle and knuckle/noodle-limp, knuckle-joint. 3)suffer loss or to be at a disadvantage.

Take good care of yourself, let yourself heal, and you'll be yourself in no time! I'm sorry for all you've had to endure, and know you will find your way, once again. Hugs, Cindy

Michelle, there were NO such drugs good enough. That was some f-d up surgery.

Vera, thanks for making my guts hurt from laughing! You're so silly!

Hi everyone, I'm too sick (flu crap) to clean but have slept to much to lay around. All I can do is post, post, post. I'm walking upright and get in and out of bed pretty easily, which is a huge, HUGE improvement. So painwise I'm good, but I keep breaking out in shivers that start inside my guts and make my whole bod convulse. I've got my famous bronchial infection, but I'm not sure why the shivers come from my sore belly. I'll call Billy in a few hours and see if I should be on more antibiotics. So surgery-wise, I'm much better, but isn't 5 days too long for a fever? I'm okay as long as I take the liquid Vicodin/Tylenol, but like clockwork, the minute the stuff wears off, there's my 101 fever. Anyone know a good Exorcist that's open on weekends?

Glad to see your home & getting better! Girlfriend, I'll be in the bed tonight too! My back is out! I'll take an extra dose of pain meds with you at midnight. LOL!! & Lonnie won tickets to a New Year's Eve party. Free alcohol & food! They're even taxiing people to the local hotels if they drink too much! That just sucks!! Hang in there. You know we're all here for you! Cheers!...............Love ya, Jess

Glad your home and feeling better, I was a bit worried after reading your story.

The nurses said they see a lot of complications from the Lap band?

The nurses said they see too many complications from all types of weightloss surgery. I'm just repeatin' what I heard.

Billy called & said my fever is normal and time plus movement (exercise) will get me better. I ran some errands and walked to earn movies in bed with my fur babies.

you have been a mentor to me about the band. even though I dont post a whole lot, I hope that you will not stop posting and remain on lap band. I really like to read all that you write. I pray that you have a speedy recovery. and I hope for you the best this new year.

P. S. Last time I chatted with you i was to put up an advar. I will have it up soon.

You are such a special person. I noticed on another thread that despite your own aches and pains, you are worrying about others. I'm sorry to hear that things were so tough for you. I'm sending prayers and a big HUG your way!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
