Hi! I was just wondering why I have such a bad headache since I was banded yesterday. It started last night and was bad today. I hope this goes away. Also, I have a tightness in my chest. I think it's gas, but I can't bring the air up. Passing some on the other end though (sorry). Did anyone have this headache? Thanks.

I did. I would drink a very small glass of reduces sugar apple juice. It may be an anesthesia hangover or lack of calorie issue.

I had the headache and it was straight across my forehead and down my neck. I think it was related to gas personLly. Nothing would touch it except the liquid codeine

I had terrible neck and shoulder pain but that was gas. I didn't have a headache.. did you give up caffeine perhaps? Just walk walk walk!! It'll help the gas pain.

Could be caffeine withdrawal .

I went through three days of this headache. I drank a lot of coffee prebanding. I am pretty sure my headaches were caffeine withdrawal as I was getting enough liquids to not be dehydrated. Since I managed to get through the headaches, I have stopped drinking coffee, which is an appetite stimulant, I think, anyway. If you were not a coffee/caffeine drinker preband, have you stopped taking any of your meds since banding? I know I stopped taking an allergy pill and a couple of reflux pills after banding. I never did research to see if sudden stoppage of any of these meds might cause headaches, but I did wonder. Just ideas....

I had a bad headache post op. In fact, I ended up admitted overnight because of it.

Thanks for all of the responses! Would you believe that it was the dryness in the hospital that dried out my sinuses? What a headache I had! Whenever I go to a hotel or fly on a plane where the air is very dry, I get bad sinus headaches. Now I know that the hospital is also a place where they recycle the air. Once I started running the humidifier, it went away. Thanks for all of your help.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
