  1. Thanks so much for all of the support! I thought I would get a bunch of lectures about eating the wrong stuff (only sometimes). I will stay in the game! Thanks again. Kellie
  2. Six weeks postop . . . still 14 lbs. down . . . the same 14 that were gone 1 week after surgery from the liquid diet. Made it through lap band hell and had a fill. That gave me some restriction, but no weight loss . . . I'm still snow covered, going through a recent separation, hence the depression. Not too much energy to exercise with all of this stress! Thanks for listening. I'm starting to think I made a mistake and should have gotten the sleeve. HELP????
  3. I wouldn't count on the gas going away! I'm definitely a tooter. Boy after my fill, I don't know why, but I was like a balloon that somebody just let the air out of. I was flying all over the house. I apologized to the family, but they, too, just stared in disbelief. What the heck . . . they want a skinny Mom, don't they? They can't have their gas and pass it too!
  4. Hi. 5 weeks out and still feel the port from time to time. I feel it when I bend down low especially. Picking up the kids and going to the store will be fine. I picked up a 20 lb. bag of dog food the other day and thought I would croak. Wasn't ready for that! Good luck.
  5. WOW! That's exactly my scenario. I'm 5 weeks out and I only lost the first 11 pounds during the one week liquid diet post op. SO frustrating. It makes you feel like it works for everyone else and not you, right? Join the club. Had my first fill last night. Although I was still starving last night, I felt the restriction this morning and even more tonight. They added 5 ccs. to an 11 cc. band. Maybe they didn't add alot to yours the first 2 times. Hang in there! I am too . . . but disappointed so far.
  6. Hi! I think your English is pretty good! Have you tried sleeping in an elevated position? If you sleep flat you tend to have more gas. I'm sure the pain is gas pains. You might be able to drink close to bedtime if you sleep elevated. I don't have any problems with that. My problem is that I can eat and drink anything I want with no problem so I'm not losing anymore. So frustrating. Hope this helps.
  7. Thanks so much for all of the encouragement! I have no choice but to hang in there since this thing is sewn inside of me!!!! I didn't lose much pre-op because I had a hard time staying full with those stinking shakes . . . so my loss came in Week 1. I'm drinking more Water today and am going to make sure I have at least 50 gms. of Protein. Thanks so much for the help. Kellie
  8. Hi guys! I used to be so happy with the surgery, but I'm16 days out of surgery and initially I lost the 14 pounds the first week. Week 2 I didn't lose anything. Does anyone know why or experience this themselves? I am so disappointed. I only get on the scale every few days, so I expect to see a lost each time. Thanks.
  9. I was also banded 6 days ago. I don't have the same problem. I would call your doctor because if you are getting infected, it's best to catch it early. Let him look at it. Good luck!
  10. Hi . . . I was also banded on the 29th and have not even advanced off of Clear Liquids. The yogurt and pudding comes next week and I can't wait. My doctor is strict, but he's so successful that I don't want to vary from what he says. I'm terrified of sticking episodes and I hate to vomit. That's probably why I'm not straying at all. Good luck!
  11. Thanks for all of the responses! Would you believe that it was the dryness in the hospital that dried out my sinuses? What a headache I had! Whenever I go to a hotel or fly on a plane where the air is very dry, I get bad sinus headaches. Now I know that the hospital is also a place where they recycle the air. Once I started running the humidifier, it went away. Thanks for all of your help.
  12. Hi . . . I am also 3 days out of surgery and the only annoying thing is the gas. I seem to have a spasm in my chest from time to time like I need to burp, but nothing comes up. It's a little scary. I hope that's all it is. Anyway, I haven't stepped onto the scale yet. Too afraid yet. My spirits were in the dumps yesterday, but much better today. The hold that food had on my mind leaves me also at a loss of what to do with my time. I guess I'll go back to knitting. I'm excited about the future too.
  13. It's a long road ahead before your surgery date, so just be excited for now. The freaking out part comes later. I'm 3 days post-op and looking forward to eating more on week 2. Everything went well. Don't worry.
