So I recently went on a little vacation, and I guess I ate a lot of salty food. Yesterday and today when I've woken up, my feet have been swollen, and I gained 6 lbs from where I was before I left. I didn't eat the best foods, but I didn't eat enough to gain 6 lbs in two days, plus I did more exercise (walking/hiking) than I have done at all since surgery so I'm pretty sure it's Water retention.

Is it ok to take a diuretic for a couple of days. I just want to get back to where I was before, and stop the swelling. Yesterday I drank a ton of Water and I plan on doing so again today but it obviously isn't helping.

Prescription diuretics your doctor has given you for this purpose? Or over-the-counter ones?

I tend to just wait it out--move a bit more and give it some time.

But six pounds in a couple of days can pose health risks for some people--if you have any blood pressure or heart issues, I'd give the doc a call.

Diuretics are typically prescribed medicines... and can be dangerous if taken without Dr's advice, it can lower your blood pressure.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
