Greetings from the other side

Hi there, I'm home from hospital and feeling great. That was way less traumatic than I thought it would be. I was given plenty of morphine quickly as I woke in recovery so that took care of pain for most of the day. Had a pretty awful night, not in pain exactly as very restless and unable to get comfortable on the horrible hospital bed. I ended up pacing the floor for a few hours because I felt better standing up and moving than lying flat, in the end I was given some sedatives to allow me to get some sleep and this morning I woke up feeling fab.

I was very fearful of swallowing! Just ice chips yesterday then the barium swallow and xray but it was this morning before I was game to actually drink, am going great guns now.

Boy I look about 9 months pregnant and the noises going on in my belly are very impressive. When it decided to exit you'd all better duck for cover over the other side of the world!

Just been out for a half hour walk, which I handled with no problems.

All in all I'm feeling positive and happy!

Glad to hear everything's going so well, Jacqui! All that walking will definitely help with the gas pains you should start feeling soon.

Just make sure to get some rest in as well and take care of yourself :P

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
