Omg It's Cold In Az!!!

Recommended Posts

When I left for work this am it was 5 degrees out. brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! I know it has been down to below 0 before but I DON'T LIKE IT!!!( I live in the White Mountains of AZ.)

Speaking of cold, do you feel the cold more now that you are losing weight?

I was always called the "ice woman" by my family because I was NEVER cold. Now I am cold all the time!!! I NEVER wear shoes when I am home. no shoes or socks or slippers. I have even been known to shovel snow in bare feet before ( i know, stupid) I think I am losing my insulation! :)

Before I moved into my new house I use to live in a 100+ house with terrible insulation. My dogs Water use to freeze overnight (in my room) Not a real hard freeze but ice on top. The only heat we had was a fire place that went out and I didn't get up and put another log on it. Well I would sleep just fine every night, not cold at all. Now I have a heater that runs all night and I am still cold. Go figure.

Keep warm everyone!!

yes! I am now always cold, in fact freezing! I didn't even take my jacket off at work today and I am sitting in here (NW phoenix) in the living room shivering up a storm.

I asked the nurse at work (a school) and she said that the body's metabolitism (sp?) has changed with the weight loss. Does anyone know if this is temporary or permanent?

We just moved into a new house with a fire pit in the backyard and we had planned to roast marshmellows this weekend, but it's too cold to go outside to the fire!

Stay warm my fellow desert dwellers.

I am sympathizing with you all. I am in Wisconsin and I am freezing my butt off!! I know what you mean about being cold now that I have lost weight. I would never get cold but now I keep my heat on and sleep in long underware! Talk about sexy!!

I am freezing now! Okay, so I'm not in AZ but I'm in NC and it's pretty doggone chilly here. I have taken to sleeping in long warmie PJ's and I bought a cheap Hanes sweat jacket (size XL, mind you, in the regular clothes section...not the Big Girls section!!) just to wear around the house because I'm so cold!!! The sleeves stay up so I can wash dishes wearing it. My sweaters don't do that...which is why I got the jacket. Anyhow, I'm freezing, too!!!!

I wonder what's up with the matabolism thing? Anyone know if this is temporary or not...AND what it means? I mean, is being cold all the time a GOOD sign or a BAD sign?

I dunno, but the snow tonight was like super fine sugar, and it is expected to be 7 degrees F (for our OZ friends that's -14 C)

We are having a heat wave!!! It was 11 degrees this morning!! And the high today was in the low 40's.

I wish it would snow, at least it would warm up a little.

Now I am cold all the time!!!

Thank God, I'm not the only one

My family and I fight to have the heater on in the car and the house. Same thing at work..my employees are always hot where Iam always freezing. It's a constant battle with them, they turn on the air, I turn it off and turn on the heater. My poor husband, when he wants to get intimate he has to get through 6 layers of clothing to do it :(

It's going to be -10 (f) here in Denver tonight. Tomorrow's high is supposed to 9 degrees! I hope my car starts in the morning! I'm afraid the pipes are going to freeze tonight, so I'm going to keep the faucet dripping all night.

Long underwear to bed tonight for sure!

My gosh I am glad someone posted about this cause I thought I was going through early menopause. I have always been the one that is hot in my family and now I am always complaining that it is too cold in the house or car. My husband laughs about it all the time because I would wear shorts and a t-shirt to bed, now I wear sweats and t-shirt with a sweatshirt over it and pile on the blankets. Crazy!!!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
