I had my 3rd fill 10 days ago, and I can tell a difference. I eat a smaller amount of food, and I stay full longer. He told me that I needed a fill when I went in, so he gave me 1 cc instead of the normal .5 cc.

Have not had a fill as of yet. My surgeon told me that as long as I am averaging 2-3 lbs /week we will wait until a fill is needed. However, I am taking this time to read and learn from others so that I can be as prepared as realistically possible for the "fill experience".

My first post op visit was 5 weeks post op. My weight loss was good so doc said come back in 6 weeks. I begged him to see me sooner as my weight loss had slowed right down. Saw him 2 weeks later and he tried to do a fill but my port was surrounded by Fluid and he could not access it. Then i was going on holiday and now he is on holiday so in just under 2 weeks he will attempt a fill under xray. Mean time, I am hungry, hungry, hungry and struggling to maintain my weight loss.

I am still eating too fast, will anything bad happen to my band by doing this? I have never PB'd, but it only takes me 15 minutes to eat a meal. I was told that it takes 30-40 minutes to eat after the band. Am I doing this right?

I wolf mine down in about that time too, or less!

I'm so frustrated. Friday I weighed 269. Today I weigh 274. I have been sick since Friday, so I know it wasn't what I ate. Maybe it was what I didn't eat. All I had on Friday was 1/4 of a baked potato. I couldn't keep any thing in my system all weekend until last night. Then I didn't eat very much because my stomach was still crampy feeling. Any ideas on what to do?

3 Month Post Op Update:

Hello all! Things have been going great on my end. I've been working hard to learn this new lifestyle. I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a bite of halloween candy or other little indulgences. The difference this time around is I don't eat the whole bag of halloween candy and i'm not having 2-3 additional servings of indulgences!

I still don't regret this decision at all! I look forward to meeting my many goals down the road. As of 11-12-2010, I am down 86 pounds, which includes my pre-op preparations. I've updated some pictures in my album, check them out!!!

I hope everyone else is doing great on their journey! Good luck, it's a long road ahead but so worth it

Wow! congrats Angela!

I've had to go back to Weight Watchers. I'm not losing and I'm fighting back and forth with the same 5 pounds:( I have very little restriction and my surgeon doesn't want to see me again for 3 MONTHS! Sometimes I wish I would have done the sleeve instead:(

Amanda I feel the same way!! my sister-inlaw had the gastric bypass in July and she is down 75 pounds already. I am yo-yoing up and down with my weight and it is so fustrating. I have had one fill and am not due to go back to the docs until dec 22nd it was Feb, but I called and had it moved up. Dec was the earliest they would give me  the doctor likes to take fills slow he said. I have no restriction and am going crazy. I go to the gym everyday and do 45 mins of cardio and weights every other day. I really thought this weight would drop off of me...boy was I wrong...its a struggle (

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
