Looking for September 2010 Bandsters

I don't have a date yet but paperwork was submitted this week for approval. I am hoping things go well and I'll be banded in September.

Looking for others who will be banded in September 2010.

Please chime in.

My pre-op visit is on Monday, 9/13.

I start my liquid diet on 9/14.

Surgery will be on Tuesday, 9/28.

I am really excited about this thing!

Desiree, You will do great! We're rooting for you!

:thumbup:Hello, I just received a call from the medical coordinator, she stated 6 mo diet notes were good and I have all req's: cardio, endo, psych, dietician, so approval was submitted today, and I got my appt date of September 21. Wooo Hoooo!! I am beyong happy, I did not think it would be this sson. I thought it would be around november. Wish me luck people!

Hello September family,

Thanks so much to all the well-wishers, especially Pookie and Pitpat. Well, I made it to Bandland!! Horrible pain post-surgery, just now getting manageable. They gave me morphine yesterday to shut me up. Seems I had a really bad hernia with part of colon protruding into stomach (so don't panic anyone, Dr. says the hernia repair was responsible for most of the pain). Surgery was at 7am-ish, and they told me to get dressed and brought a wheelchair for me at 4:30. Had a few dry heave episodes which were heck on earth. I've forced myself to walk, walk, and walk some more. As bad as it has been, wouldn't change a thing about my decision.

The Unjury came today, just in time. So I can have some protein with my strained chicken noodle soup. I'm feeling a bit loopy, nodding out as I am typing. Time for another nap. My wamest wishes to all!!

Congrats on the approval

The 21st will be here before you know it!

Keep us posted on you progress.

Hi everyone!

Im back from the dead... lol

I hope everyone is doing well!

Surgery went smoothly on Tuesday; single incision done and the hiatal hernia repaired... I stayed over night at the hosptial and got home yesterday afternoon. Major gas pain yesterday and last night, mostly in my upper back area, but today seems to be a lot better but still not feeling too great. I slept like crap since the surgery due to discomfort but I have been taking naps here and there often.

As far as the liquid diet thing, I am barely able to sip anything. I have a horrible taste in my mouth, still probably from the previous medications and I just feel like ICK. I have no desire to eat or drink but I do force myself to take a couple sips here and there.

I am able to walk around pretty well, just sore here and there. I personally try to avoid pain medication as much as possible. One thing that really hurts like a bitch is hicups- I get one every so often and because of the hernia repair... uhhhh it is not a good feeling.

OMG can I just tell you that my anesthisologist (sp sorry) was super beautiful! When I met him before the whole process... OMG I was in awe... he was HOT! LMAO. So Im laying there half naked and trying to be serious about him taking about the procedure process on his end.. then my mother is sitting behind him making comments and faces about how good looking he was. I kept laughing and I think he thought I was crazy. But yeah... Dr. McHottie! LOL. It made my surgery process a little smoother!

Okay well for those still waiting to get done! Its gonna be here real soon!

Im so glad this is finally done!

Its so good to be able to read about everyone's experiences through their journey. What a great forum this is. So glad to have found it.

I am scheduled for 9/29 so the countdown has begun!

BTW Danide I'm glad things went smoothly. Happy healing!

Congrats Rebecca on your loss! We are both celebrating today, I'm down 15lb

My surgery is tomorrow, 9/10. I was originally scheduled for 2 pm, which I wasn't thrilled with. My dr's office called today to say I am now scheduled for 7:30 am & have to be at the hospital at 5:30 am. I've been kind of freaking out. This is real. This is happening. It really helps reading other people's experiences. I just want it to be this time tomorrow night and have it behind me. But I know this is a new beginning for me & as nervous/anxious I am about it, I know it's the right thing for me.

Good luck everyone!

Hi JLR.

It is perfectly understandable and appropriate to be nervous when your surgery is early tomorrow morning. But you'll be banded sooner rather than later, which is really great! I hope I get an early surgery time next Friday on 9/17! You're so lucky.

Best of luck crossing over to bandland. Keep in touch so we know how everything went.
