No...not a schedule of the weekend, just of the pick ups on Thursday. I feel terrible that I can't pick up the 11am girls.:thumbup:

AND don't forget they will all be independently wealthy by the time they leave the casino! Not to worry, PamELa... they aren't the pick up type. Now Janie and I on the other hand....

Been a rough weekend here. We are both so worried about Joe and family. We are funneling money to them to keep them above Water until he can get another job. He interviewed at a grocery store and will know about that this week, plus there is another possibility in the oil fields, but it would take 6 weeks of training in Oklahoma. I just hate not knowing and being so far away from him.

I keep telling him I love him and it will all turn out ok, but I'm not even sure of it doing that. I'm praying really, really hard that God will guide him to the best job possible for him and his family.

I just hope it happens soon.

Much as I have looked forward to this get away, it's going to be tough being away from Bob when we're both feeling so helpless. I'll do my best not to bring everybody down and maybe, just maybe there will be good news before the end of the week.

At least you guys will definitely take my mind off of things while I'm there.

We got the dog sitter all advised of our schedule and I'll pack tomorrow and head to the bank on Wednesday morning to draw out some "lunch money". We'll leave here about 2 Wednesday and be in Detroit by 8. I must remember my cane. I don't use it much, but I'm guessing it might come in handy with all the walking we're going to do! And yes, Jane... I still take the percocet, though only one tablet once or twice a day now. Hardly any pain at all anymore, just lots of swelling, but doc says that will take months before that goes away.

Off to do some house cleaning. We had the grandkids over yesterday and had a great time swimming. Sure makes me miss Ethan though.. sighhhhhhhh

Hi Girls~

I just want to let you know who happy I am that you are coming out to see us. I know you are all busy, stressed, financially lean, and are going to be missed in your "lives". I feel honored to be a part of a wonderful group of friends who ground me, support me and make me laugh...I can only hope that I do the same for you all.

I feel blessed to have such lovely friends. I cherish our gatherings as they RECHARGE me in my life.

So THANK YOU my dear Violets for making next weekend great. Yes Judy, praying for good news for your family and hope to take your mind off of things, if only for a while.

I am going to email you all my home #. Cell phones don't work great in the house (very high ceilings and an attic) so your families can call the house if they can't reach you!

AMEN, Sister!

"Renew, Restore, Recharge" -- that's the mantra for the weekend.

Pam & Susanne, you are both so gracious to have us all invade your home... I appreciate it more than words express. We all need a little time "off," away from our own daily lives/worries/work... and I for one can't wait to get there!! I'm already packing!

COCO!

Morning girls~

Wow...that was a quick weekend! I still have 8 papers to grade today (did 20 yesterday) and need to finish my project. Trying to get it all done by Wed. I have a mtg Wed night and need to have the power point presentation done by then.

Everyone have a great day!

Where has Laura been? Did she go to Vegas w/ her mom? How did I miss this???

HAH no I am here. PFF I can't afford (time or money) vegas right now. Mom texted me the first night saying she's lonely that no one else plays the games we play.. I texted back 'go to TUNICA next time'. Hah. Long story Les' gf had booked this trip with her exhusband and some how conned my parents into going. Whole long story, and has something to do with leslie being clean 30 days (again...again.)

But with mom out of town, I didn't get any break from C over the weekend which meant no computer time and no posting!

So Pam should I get my flu shot before Thurs? Are we going to be exposed to sickly people? I am suppose to get a flu shot, I just haven't yet... How does the pharmacy flu shots work? I see them say 'we have flu shots!', can you just walk up? You don't have to have a doc rx? I don't have time to go to doc this week. I'm stressing already about the short work week, and now that our cells may not work in the house!!! I have to have access to emails for work, Pam can I use your laptop while I'm there?

I am excited too, this just feels so rushed, I have so much going on, this is our busy season and if I wasn't who I was, I wouldn't be allowed to go on vaca, we're too overworked for vacas during the fall.

Tuesday we find out if it's Izzy or not!! I took the Intelligender Pee test.. from reading online, there people who swear by it, and people who don't. Really, it has a 50% chance of being accurate. I didn't take it to heart, but it says pee first thing in the morning, and I used afternoon pee.. and it said boy. But it says 'if you don't use morning pee it will be inaccurate'. I'm taking that to mean, since I didn't use morning pee and it said boy, it's really a girl

Good morning, Violets..

Had therapy this morning and we got the knee to bend to 123.. that's a record for me. Only 3 more therapy sessions.. one before I go and 2 when I get back. I will be glad to have my days to myself again, but unfortunately that will make me miss Ethan more. Guess I'll have to make some more trips to see Grady during the week.

I started packing yesterday and am mostly done.

PamELa... is there music at your church??? I really would like to go with you on Sunday, if you're going.

Got the pool cleaned out today and Bob turned off the furnace, pump and drained it. Called the pool place to come out this week and close it up for us. Now it's hot tub for the rest of the season.

Hey.. I will need a "bender" while I'm there.... NO, not what you're thinking!! When we're in the hot tub, I'll need someone to help me bend and stretch my knee. Any nurse/Physical Therapist wanna be's in the group??

Off to head to the bank and turn in the money from the change jar so I can send it to Joe. Every little bit helps...

Everyone have a great day. We'll be seeing each other soon!!!

No, we wont be hanging around any sickly people. But yes, I suggest you get a flu shot before you get on a plane full of strangers. Walk into Walgreens or the pharmacy and you get it quick. It is like 20 or 30 bucks...easy peasy.

The phones work...just may not ring in the house. You can use your phones by the pool and ANYONE can use my laptops (I have 2 Susanne has one).

I know there is a chior, but I haven't heard them yet. The regular Rev has been gone all summer and I didn't go yesterday to meet him (have no idea about the guy). Maybe they sing when he is back. We sing about 3-4 songs during the service (we the people). I will meet the "regular" pastor at the same time with you!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
