My name is Amber and I am 32 years old. I have a son that is two and my partner and I have been together for 13 years. I have just started the LapBand process and am awaiting approval. I was approved a year and a half ago, but decided to give it one last try on my own and was unsuccessful. So I turned in all my paperwork and am starting the process again. I am anxious and excited and nervous all rolled into one. I look forward to this journey and look forward to making new LapBand buddies:)

Congratulations on the start of your journey Amber. What you are feeling is perfectly normal. I wish you much success. Don't give up because this is the best thing that could happen to you. If I had to do it over again I would do it in a heartbeat. Lapband has defiantly changed my life.

I too am new. My name is Susan and I am a 61 yr. old grandmother and mother of four whose "baby" just turned 18 and is leaving for college soon. I have tryed every diet in the world, however with only temporary success. I have been considering this procedure since it came out, but now am decidedly going for it!! I am self pay so the process is going pretty fast. Good luck to you!

Thank you for the replies! It is exciting just getting started and I love talking to others that are on the journey and to people that have already had it done to inspire me on my journey! Thanks for the encouragement!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
