I love Dr. Watkins. He is awesome and very humble. Nean do you have to do the 2 weeks liquid diet? What shakes are you thinking of going with?

Ya I start Monday. Melody said I could go with Optifast but I def opt out of that! lol

I am not a fan of pre-made shakes at all! Id rather make my own and make them the way I like them, esp if i am going to be living on them for 2 weeks!

I love the Protein powder called platinum hydrowhey. It is on the expensive side, but its the best stuff I have tasted, tastes like a milkshake, if you use it with milk to me! You can pick if up at any xsport or order it online.

Hi there!

I'm 36, in Texas, and scheduled for surgery June 15th.

My starting weight was 268, but I think I'm down to somewhere between 230-235 now (started this in January). My goal is 150, and I'm 5'6".

I have my pre-op stuff done on May 21, the morning after I get back from a week-long vacation at Disney World, and a few days before I head out for a week-long camping trip, so we'll see how *that* goes.

I have the option to do either a mostly-liquid diet or a low-carb, low-fat, high-Protein diet pre-op. I will probably take the mostly liquid option, as I've been following a slightly modified version of the other one for several weeks already.

For the liquid, I'll be using the Optimum Nutrition 100% whey Protein Powder in vanilla Ice Cream flavor. I like it best mixed with Soy Slender soymilk in vanilla or Chocolare, but it's decent with unsweetened soymilk too. Post-op, I'll just be mixing it with just Water for the first two weeks, but it's not bad that way either.

I just found out that one of my best girlfriends is getting banded with the same doctor on the same day, so I definitely will have a local buddy, but I could always use more! I have a lot of friends that have done other bariatric surgeries, but no one else I know well has gotten the lap-band.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
