I am sure you will be fine, just stay away from the pastries now  Get back with the pre-op program and don't look back.

I cheated also. my surgery is tommorrow and I am very nervous. I was doing well, but my surgery was postponed twice because of the snow in the northeast (was originally for Feb 11, then Feb 22). I know I shouldn't have cheated, but I did. I hope everything will be alright.

Whatever you did that didn't follow your pre-op diet, you NEED to tell your surgeon right away!! Don't come here and ask our opinions, most of us are not doctors.

It is vitally important your doctor knows EXACTLY what you did and right away. You do not want to get on the operating table and have him surprised by something he was not expecting. Don't worry about a postponement of surgery or be afraid to tell him you cheated, it is a matter of having a successful surgery and result.

The other thing I would suggest doing right away is educating your "friends" about this journey. The last thing you need is people around you encouraging you to eat...birthday or not. What you need is support and encouragement when you make the right choice, not temptation into making the wrong ones. This is hard enough to fight our internal demons without help from external ones!

I really think that your tone is a bit harsh:cursing:. We are all aware that most of us are not medical professionals. However, we are all either going through similar experiences or already been through it. As a result, it is not necessary to have a judgmental tone with one another. The main objective of this site is to provide peer support and learn from each other

We are all here support and advice. Maybe, I am reading your post the wrong way and if I am let me apologize. She cheated on pre-op, so have I and thousands of others that have gone before us. It is not how many times you fail that makes you a failure. But how you recover and move on.

@ BriBri90, if you are very worried, please call your doctor and I am sure that he will put your mind to ease or help find a solution to your minor mishap. I am sure that he knows that most of us are in this situation because of will power. If we all had strong will power to say no to our favorite foods, he may not have such a lucrative job. Girls dust those pastry crumbs of your mouth and keep going.

Okay, so you cheated. Now what? Well, you get up, get off your duff and start moving. Go for a good walk to help negate the "damage" done, and to clear your mind and think of why you really want to do this and how you are doing it for you.

I am on day 13 of an 800 cal Optifast pre-surgery diet. Although I have not cheated, I understand wholeheartedly why one would and could. If this were easy everyone would be skinny and this site would not exist. What has helped me through is the thought, "how will I feel 10 minutes after I eat this, and is this really tummy hunger or head hunger?" Hope it helps.

I agree, dust off the pastry crumbs and leave them behind you. Can't change it now, but you can change how you eat in the future. Good luck and God Bless.:o

My tone was not meant to be harsh, although after reading it again it could be taken that way.

All I'm trying to say is that if you are not following doctor's orders you need to be or at least letting him or her know what you did. There are reasons these boundaries are set in place, and I don't suggest anyone come here for medical advice.

I have never cheated on my dr's orders and if I did would call and get advice right away. Did not mean to sound harsh, I can be too direct at times

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
