I have my surgery on tuesday but my doc's plan is

day 1-2 liquids (broth,jello,popsicles,protein shakes)

day 3-4 soft foods (eggs, beans, chicken salad, egg salad, tuna, cooked veggies, flaky fish

day5 progress to regular diet.

Mine seems to allow back to foods faster but he is well established in a big group and they all follow the same program. My pre-op was the liquids for 2 weeks first week one frozen meal. Last week 4 Protein shakes and clears. Last two days just clears

I had 5 days of clears, 3 days of full liquids, 7 days pureed and 7 days of soft foods. It wasn't easy but I did it. I did lots of tea, popsicles and Jello for the clears. Once I got to full liquids I could do Protein Shakes and that is what made a difference.

I'm on day 11 of a 3 week pre-op diet and have lost 18lbs. My diet is 3 shakes per day made with Isopure Protein Powder, a 4oz serving of sugarfree Jello chocolate pudding (with 4 scoops of Protein powder added when I made the pudding), and broth/jello as needed. I have not cheated and, surprisingly enough, I feel great! I have not experienced any of the negative side effects other people have talked about during their pre-op diets.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
