Nissan R35 GTR [/quote

Nice choice Cingulus! That is the type of car I would want before I moved up to the high country where I have to have 4 wheel drive. I have thought about getting a different car for my goal prize, but may want to go with the plastic surgery route. I think I may need some work on my flappy arms and maybe the flappy boobs too! We'll see.

It may sound simple but when I make my goal wt ( want to lose 80 lbs ) I am going to have a family picture made. ( one where I am not standing in the back hiding behind everyone!

Hopefully by the fall or winter i'll be at goal.

OK, so I know I need to be careful how I say this cos I don't want to sound all "holier than thou" or anything, but to be honest, the truth is that, for me, to have reached goal weight is reward in itself.

I can breathe.

I have no pain upon exertion.

I can walk.

I can run.

I can jump.

I can play with my kids.

I can help others less fortunate than me.

I can exert myself until I can barely keep my eyes open and know that I can do so much more than I could just a few years ago.

I started this journey all woman (and part of another one). I lost 70 lb (at my surgeon's insistence) before being banded and I was eventually banded in December 2007. I reached goal weight some time ago. I have had to learn how to enjoy life (and exercise:huh2:) instead of just food, which was a challenge but wasn't impossible. My kids have their Mum back, my life expectancy is back to normal and LIFE IS FABULOUS!

Well when i hit a 100lbs lost which is only 10lbs i am getting my tattoo. Also when i hit my goal of 120lbs i am going to have Plastic surgery.

Aside from plastic surgery--which isn't so much a reward, to me, but more a completion of the journey---I don't really have any concrete plans. I'll need a new wardrobe, that's for sure

I love the idea of an eternity band---just like our gastric bands, forever.

Along the way, I am buying myself a Pandora bead & spacer for every 10 pounds lost. If you're not familiar with these, the concept is kind of like a charm Bracelet, only they're beads instead of charms. For the bracelet related to my weight loss, I'm choosing beads that are relevant to the journey: I've started with a gym shoe and clover (because I was lucky enough to be banded). By the time I'm done, the bracelet will be full.

Another thing I am doing (and that reminds me, I have some catching up to do!) is going to the bank after each week's weigh-in to purchase the equivalent weight of my loss---in quarters! Each roll of quarters is a half pound and costs $10.

If I've lost just a little, carrying around a even a half a roll of quarters in my pocket for a little while makes it pretty darn apparent that even those small losses are significant.

I toss the rolls I've "earned' in a canvas tote bag. When I get bummed about how "little" I've lost, I pick it up for a very real reminder of what that loss represents.

I figure by time I get to goal, I'll have enough to make a pretty big dent in a good wardrobe.

Now, see, I hadn't been thinking about this before, but you all now have me started

I am definitely loving the eternity band concept as a final reward!!!

For an interim reward at 50 pounds, I'm going to buy myself a bicycle...by that time, I'm probably going to be close to my move to Florida, where there are lots of beautiful bike paths.

At 75 pounds, I'm going to buy myself a new spotting scope...I'm a birdwatching nut, and having one of these is a big plus...my training husband took the old one when he left

Best, Christine

Well...let's see...I'm almost 3 years out and I have rewarded myself along the way. When I lost my first 50 pounds I rewarded myself with my very first COACH bag (I have about 10 now...couldn't get enough...lol). I have bought LOTS of clothes throughout the journey and last year I had a lower body lift and breast lift with implants. In one month from today, I take sail for my very first cruise...I'm going to the Bahamas and probably the biggest reward that I have received in all of this...a divorce...I didn't ask for it but once all of the information came to surface about my soon-to-be-ex-husbands cheating...I fell in love with myself and my new life and me and my boys are happy as can be. Life is wonderful and I love my band.

wow. ya'll have some great ideas. i'm only three days banded and haven't really thought about what reward i will give myself other than new clothes as i shrink outta my old ones. i love the eternity band idea and the roll of quarters thing. i will have to think on this and decide what i wanna do.

My plan is to go on another honeymoon with my husband and live it up like I wish we would have been able to on the first one. Including taking 1000 more pictures to replace the previous ones!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
