Encouragement for Pre-Banders

I'm still a baby bandster. I am officially one week post of, today! I went back to work yesterday for almost a full day but had my post op follow up appointment so I had to leave a bit early.

Anyway I just wanted to tell you all how AWESOME the band is so far! I have lost...Are you ready for this....14 pounds since surgery! 14 pounds!!!

I won't lie and say I had no pain, there was pain. I won't lie and say I haven't been hungry. I've been hungry. But 14 pounds is totally worth it!

Good Luck!

That's awesome!!!! I'm going to my nutritionist tomorrow for my first appt and I'm so excited. Then I have my first appt with the surgeon on the 17th  I'm at the point where it still feels like it's never going to happen.....

I have my surgery scheduled for February 4th...only two days away. SO excited and SO ready! Thanks for the encouragement!

I have the psychological testing and two more nutritionist visits left. Thanks for the encouragement!

That is AWESOME!

I have my first surgeon consultation tomorrow afternoon. I am so excited!

i have my weight in visit and then hopefully a date soon. done everything else and its only been two months.

Oh I wish things could move that quickly for me! I am required to do a six month Dr. supervised diet. My insurance insists.

Your success with the band is fantastic! I can't wait to join you:thumbup:

Congradulations!!!!!! You are an inspiration for all of us waiting to have surgery. My surgery is March 24th. I have to go for my second Sleep Apnea sleep over tomorrow night, I'm not looking forward to it. They tell me, I will have to wear the famous mask tomorrow night, everyone else, i.e., heart, gastro, phycologist, have all ok'd surgery. Wish it were over, the only fear I have right now is the pre-surgery diet of protein shakes only for 2 weeks. How did you make out with it, any suggestions on how to get thru it? Keep up the good work and congradulations again. Eileen:thumbup:

For those of you in the early stages of all this, I HIGHLY recommend reading the blog of band_groupie from the beginning just whenever you have time. It answers lots of questions and is very motivating as it seems like she holds your hand thru the tough times..I and lots of others sometimes re read it to increase motivation or get on track..you'll laugh and cry!

Thats Awesome!! I'm having my surgery in 2 days on feb 4th and cant wait for my journey to begin

Thank you for sharing your success! :(

Awesome, hopefully I can lose 14 pounds as quickly!!! :(

Congrats- I just got my surgery date today- June 2nd. Still a ways to go. I'm a bit nervous....

I have to do a 6 month physcian wt loss before my insurance will cover the surgery so it looks like I'm looking at July or Aug before I get to see the surgeon to set up an appt. I'm a little discouraged, but I guess that just gives me a little time to get the other stuff they want done.

I'm so ready to have this done and get started!!

I was afraid that my insurance was going to make me do a MD supervised 6 month program but I guess I lucked out! This certainly is not a quick procedure- I started the process back in October. That's a city hospital for ya! Good luck to you!
