Back on the "BAND WAGON"
:frown:well I am finally feeling nourished after the trip to Alaska where on the cruise I could not seem to eat properly! A slight unfill .04 cc's did the trick. NOW to get back on the Band Wagon and lose the next 10 lbs! I want to lose 30 more, but will get there one day at a time. I am hitting the gym tomorrow and starting my daily walks again, you can sure get off track when going on Vacation, I loved the cruise, but got more lbs to lose! Hoping all is well with your soul and your health, God Bless, have a great day!

One-der-Land Revisits
Well, you could have one piece of cake for your birthday! Cheesecake? It is made from lots of protein, LOL High protein for awhile kills the urge for carbs for me. Best of Luck!

4 more days till my "b" day!!
My soreness left on the fifth day after banding, I was walking back and forth in my driveway every morning too to relieve the gas and pain, get some Gas-X you will be glad you did. Get a body pillow if you don't have one, you will sleep better rolled into it too. Also have some small pillows while you are sitting to hug and you sit down and get up as to not pull the port lose. It is stitched in place and that is why you have the pain there more. It was one week before I went back to work. God Bless You and Keep You!

1 month post op today AND 1st fill!
Just what my Dr. told me too, but I slowed down on my eating cause I was not hungry, then when I kicked the calorie intake up, I lost weight! I have lost faster than some others on here, and slower than others on here, so I think your Dr. is right just eat right and do as they say and our bodies are different one from another, and we will arrive at that Happy Place~not obese one day, the day that is right for US! Keep up the good work!

On my soap box
Get off Carbs completely for three days, Protein only! Meats Eggs Cheeses, Protein Shakes, Salads with little oil and vinegar dressing and take a laxative to cleanse the colon, it can hold up to 20 lbs! Yes 20 lbs! When you are in the 4th day of NO CARBS(under 20 grams) you will be in KETOSIS(Fat Burning) It works and is safe for awhile(about 8 weeks). Then after 8 weeks, go to 50-60 grams of carbs, you will still lose weight just not as fast, do this for 8 weeks and then go back to under 20 grams of carbs, just rotate and you will drop like crazy!

Two Weeks Post Op
Go to Wal-Mart to get the best drink! Yes Wal-Mart! I went through many till I tried Body Fortress Brand, LOW CARB HIGH PROTEIN, 52 grams of protein per drink, or I break one drink into two, one in the morning and one at night, it gives me my sweet fix before I go to bed. Love the Chocolate and Strawberry and you can mix them together, or blend with fresh fruit and ice for a summer slush, delicious! Glad you are doing so well, hang in there we are going on the ride of our lives! Be happy!

Preppy!
Just for good measure, stock up on some things for after the surgery: Gas-X or Phillips Milk of Magnesia, Jello, Freezer Pops, Whipped Cream (Yummy by itself) Ensure or protein powder and milk. Clear soups and broth. And: Put toilet paper in reach, even some extra for refills. Have several small pillows for use over the port area when getting up and down from chairs and couch. Love the recliner if you have one. Keep all medicines in a lower cabinet or shelf so you don't have to stretch for them for at least the first week. Buy a body pillow if you don't have one for a really good nights sleep. Put all your panty's and gowns in a top drawer so you don't have to bend down for a few days. Baby yourself for a few days and don't try to be superwoman and strain or tear the stitches that hold the port in place. It will be sore for about a week until the stitches heal. God Bless~So happy for you to be on the journey to THIN!

No longer considered Morbidly Obese - BMI 39
I have lost 82 lbs and I am still Obese! But looking for that day when I am at a Normal BMI, not going to give in until I get there. I know what you mean, my husband is looking for work right now too and money is painfully tight, but stress releases cortizones which will keep you from losing so destress, pray and it will be fine, better days are ahead, I have no regrets, for I am healthier now than I have been in a long time.

My jaws need to chew!
I only eat a lot of protein. Including the sausage you cooked for 12 LOL, I follow the Adkins with an exception, more carbs. I have at least 50-60 grams per day and I have a protein shake everyday in the morning. Love it, either strawberry or choclate! I use body Fortress Brand from Wal-Mart, Whey Protein, Low Carb too and so Delicious, taste like a milkshake and they have come out with cookies n creme now, can't wait to try it, down 82 lbs in 9 1/2 months!

Behavior Modification Roller Coaster
:wink:This journey has been for me a behavior modification journey. Learning to listen to and do what my inner voice tells me is right. I don't always listen, and tune out the inner voice and override the warnings! Sometimes I am successful at being bad and eating the things I have loved for years, and sometimes they go down and come back up. We are in a learning curve for the first year I think, and only trial and error will prove us, not what people say or do or think we should be doing, our body responds to us. I tend to do good for awhile, then fall off the wagon again and then get back on. So what, life is like a roller coaster ride, just hang on!

Why do people....
This journey has been for me too a behavior modification journey and learning to listen to and do what my inner voice tells me is right, I don't always listen and tune out the inner voice and override the warnings! Sometimes I am successful at being bad and eating the things I have loved for years, and sometimes they go down and come back up. We are in a learning curve for the first year I think, and only trial and error will prove us, not what people say or do or think we should be doing, our body responds to us, I tend to do good for awhile, then fall off the wagon again and then get back on. So what, life is like a roller coaster ride, just hang on! 40 lbs is GONE and not coming back. I have had 10 months almost and lost 82 lbs so I am happy, not totally satisfied, but happy and going on! Good Luck to you and God Bless.

Incision draining at port
Don't be too stressed that is not good for you, do as the Dr. Says and it will probably straighten out. There are always a few complications tho minor with most surgeries. I had red incisions and used the antibiotic cream, then I had itching and a rash, then I had to have an unfill, but after losing 82 lbs I would endure this all over again. God Bless you and I am praying for you to be well and get on with life after the band.

Tomorrow it IS!!!

Some of My Children NEVER will Grow up! Some Days!
It sure does it has been awhile for me too, I was about to think it wasn't going to go down anymore on the scales, I did not feel stuck, just finished! LOL Boy those children, got to love them though I just wish they knew how to save money like we had to. When I got my first house, no AC just one window unit, we stayed in there, all of us to sleep in that one bedroom to save money, we were poor, but happy! Some of the things "They" think they can't live without! Cable TV, Cell Phones, Games and Movies Out! I refuse to pay for any of their bad habits too! Cigarettes, drinking and partying, guess I am on it right? LOL I love them too much, and I did spoil them some. But 34 is time to grow up when you have two kids and one on the way! Just got to keep praying for them and helping them when we can! Thanks for the post.

Some of My Children NEVER will Grow up! Some Days!
Today is one of those days, I feel so disgusted trying to help, I try not to get involved in my married childrens lives, but then when they get in a bind, they call on me, and I am there! I will be so glad when they grow up! Gosh! Praying hard for the patience I need. Well on a brighter note, down 4 1/2 lbs today! Worked hard, had great energy now headed to the house, have a great night all!

Well the UNFILL has happened to ME!!!Never thought it would!
Thanks to you both, boy the mood swings stop when you can actually swallow the food and keep down the good nutrients and vitamins you get from the food! I feel good, I actually had so much more energy today and dropped 3 lbs. Thanks for the kind words of encouragement!

Couldn't sleep
Constant tenasity! Just be very consistant with your eating habits, exercise and try to relax with and go with the flow of things, It does get a bit humdrum, but as time goes by so do the lbs! Life is like a boat, floating down the river, smooth sailing one day and then you hit a rock or a hard place, just get free of those hard spots and keep on floating! Sounds like you have a stressful job too and that can keep one wound up, I too deal with stress in my life and with customers, you got to get that LET it ROLL attitude, when they know it is eating at you, they try harder to tick you off! Just let it Roll Off your shoulders! You will feel better, I promise! Good Luck!

Peace -- the magic that helps all
Loved your post! I too prayed the night before and the day of, not worried or afraid, just for that Perfect Peace! I did write my husband a Love Letter and before he left the operating room I gave it to him. He has been the love of my life and the father of my children for 32 yrs, and if it was in Gods will for me to leave him, I just wanted him to know all the things I said to him in that letter! I am way too sentimental, so after we got home, I felt like a silly little school girl, but I knew that he Knew and neither one of us ever mentioned it again, it has been 10 months since that day and I was cleaning and found he had kept the letter in a drawer. Sweet!

motivation
Hey read my post, It sounds just like what I said! I had my unfill yesterday and it really has made all the difference in me! I did not want to tell the DR. either, that was my greatest fear, but I got the guts went in and it was good for ME so just do it and get real with this journey, they don't know as much as WE KNOW about how we FEEL! Take Care!

Hi, I have had the band for 10 mos, my daughter is an RN ~can she give me fills? Just saying! I have lost 82 lbs in about 10 months so I am doing good I feel, I just had an unfill of .04ccs under flouroscopy each time! I feel so much better and hope to get to my goal in a total of 18 months, started at 272, day of surgery 247! I want to weigh around 165 in the end and maintain. Since you have had yours awhile, I was wondering what sort of foods you eat daily to keep it from being boring to eat.

Well the UNFILL has happened to ME!!!Never thought it would!
:eek:Yes ME! But OH HOW MUCH BETTER I FEEL NOW!!! I was afraid to get the Unfill although I secretly KNEW I NEEDED ONE! I was a little ashamed to even mention that I was having difficulty to my Dr. I did not want him to think I could not keep going and or that he had put too much in, or that I would eat MORE with some of it out! But I had been miserable for two months and while on my cruise, I always ate near the Ladies Rooms so I could go and upchuck half of what I ate, I was feeling so bad because I was losing all the nutrients and minerals and vitamins I needed from my foods!!!! Oh yes and I had Gained some weight not but a couple of lbs, but I had so much swelling around the band from throwing up and my body was not functioning properly so I could not LOSE any weight! Well 48 hours of liquids passed and it was TIME to EAT AGAIN! I was so afraid to eat, when I did, it went down great, I felt full soon after and that was it, NO UPCHUCKING! YEAH! Wow, I am just right now back at my SWEET SPOT! I know I am going to start losing the weight again and meet my goal~so I have a renewed spirit with the band on my side again! Thanks for all your great comments! Hope all is well for you!
