I like being a LOOSER!
No one wants to be a looser! Well I like it! I never thought that loosing would make me a winner! LapBand AP has made me a looser and I am happy about it. I have started to visualize myself at 80 lbs thinner, now that I am 40 lbs or so down from my old weight! Next year at this time I will be a totally different woman! Take a photo of yourself, use a black marker, and trim yourself down! This will give you inspiration to get with the program, stay with the program, and get thin. Take it with you always, when you are tempted, take it out, look at it and walk away from those foods that will stop you from reaching your goals! I have been asked to start a support group at the local hospital where I had my surgery! I am very excited about being able to help others in their journey to slim with me. Have a great day Bandsters!:huh2:

Third Fill Coming UP!
I found out that I have an 11cc band, I get my third fill this coming Wednesday. I do seem to get a little hungrier the week before the fill. Don't know why that is. I have had so many challenges this past two weeks, Class Reunion, Baby Showers, Celebration Dinners, Anniversarys, Fairs and Festivals Galore to mention a few. I have slipped a little here and there, but have always gained control and not thrown in the towel. I am striving for success, not perfection! I know that I am not perfect, no one is, but my goal now is to stay aware of what I am eating and get better at writing it all down. Drinking 80 ounces of water is a challenge for me, and the cooler it gets, I want coffee, not cold water, anyone else know how to get this water in?

PREPARE THOSE MEAL PLANS IN ADVANCE, THAT IS WHAT I HAVE LEARNED AND IS VERY HELPFUL! HAVE A GREAT DAY!

June 15 banded-- too slow?
It has been two months since my surgery and including the post op diet, I have lost 33 lbs. So I feel great about it! You are doing something right, and with every fill you will do better, lots of inches will also come off and that is a great feeling, cause clothes will start fitting and looking good on your body! Can you imagine? In 9 months or so we will look back and say wow, look how far we have come!!! I look at how much weight I gained in 9 months with a pregnancy and if I loose that much in 9 months I will be one proud grandma. I took all my grandchildren to a parade yesterday and they are all still very small, I hope they will not ever have to be ashamed of me being so big, cause I will be small soon. My youngest daughter will have a wedding in a couple of years, and I am going to be the hottest old mother of the bride there is.

4.5 weeks post op and stalled. Need some help
Hi, If you go to LapBand.com, and Click on Lindora Lean for Life, They will give you motivation and help every day and help you track your weight loss and also give you daily plans for 800 calories and 900 calories per day, you can actually have some things that are calorie free and yet filling. The only protien only is for three days! That gets you into Ketosis and you start burning the fat, I lost 3.5 lbs in the first 3 days. and I am loosing now. I do agree that after the fill you will not eat as much or be as hungry. I am 8 weeks post op and have now lost 33 lbs. I was so discouraged at 4 weeks for the little weight loss and was almost ashamed at seeing others success, but fear not, you are staying the course and it will show up soon, I do not excersise as much as you do yet, but I walk three times a week and I am toning up. Going to join a Gym soon.

High Protein Diet is WORKING!!! Dropped 3.5 lbs in a week!
I decided to follow the Lindora Lean for Life program. Very High Protein to get you into Ketosis in the first three Days, then introduce some good carbs day four on. It worked! I am only in a Moderate state of Ketosis and I have Lost 3.5 lbs this week or In 5 days actually. I go in for my second fill tomorrow and I have calmed down about it, thanks to all of those who sent a post. I know it will help restrict my intake of foods that I don't need to be eating and stop my cravings more too, also I want to get going with an excercise program. There is a Gym I have checked out that is $35 per month, and a personal trainer to assist you in setting up your Program! Gonna Give it a Whirl!:thumbup::biggrin::eek::biggrin::mad::biggrin:Have a Blessed Day All!

Should I or shouldn't I?
You guys, I would have had this surgery years ago, but my husband, who has always had a 34 inch waist thought that he could help me and I could loose it, and I did over and over again. This time I paid for it myself, set up everything and then told him, oh he knew I was going through with it, he went to the pre-seminar and I was committed. He could not understand because his metabolism is so good and mine has never been, when you excersise a lot you build muscle and that helps with your metabolism to burn fat and not store it. I too believe that some of us have more hunger hormones released to the stomach and the brain. I am 57 and wish I had the guts to have gone ahead with my plans 10 years ago! But you know what? I am here now, 31 lbs lighter, and tomorrow will be 2 months! I am going to show all those doubting folks what I can do. Just wait and see, that is the attitude to take, attitude is altitude, how high do you want to go? I am going to the top!!!

I need support... someone please help!
Hi, I too felt this way only 8 weeks ago, I was out of my element being at home and not working, not being able to move around quickly and clean house, what could I do? I felt a little helpless and a little self-pity and began to doubt my decision and that I could do this!!! My husband really did not want me to have the Band, he always thought I could do it myself, and I tried over and over again to get thin, to no avail. He has always weighed the same since we married, and eats Ice Cream at night!!! I found that I could go out to eat, just made lean choices, or I eat my select foods prior to going out now and just have a glass of Water and a salad or cottage cheese. All my friends have been great support and encourage me. They all tell me that they can see me getting thinner. It is hard to believe in the beginning. Let me tell you, I looked at Recipe books when I came home!! My husband asked me if I was crazy. I was actually finding foods that I could have when I got to Solids and looking at how to lower the fat, carbs and calories in these recipies. I had a grocery list when I got to Solids to go to the store with, so try to stay busy, and not bored, you will be less depressed! I slept a lot and watched a lot of TV too. I made up my mind that when I could eat solids, I'd have Chinese, I did, but very little of it, I felt so bloated afterwards! LOL Just take it one day at a time, It will get better for you.:smile2:

Second fill Coming up! Excited??? Don't Know What to expect!
I have to admit, I am a little worried about the next fill and excited too! I want to get more weight off and keep it off and I know this is what I wanted! But in three days I will get the next fill #2 and I am so nervous. It doesn't hurt, I am not anxious about that, but I just worry that I will not be able to consume any food much that I like, although I don't get hungry now. I also worry that I will choke or get food hung and panic! Scared to death of that! I have not thrown up at all and I don't like to or want to. Anyone else feel this way?:eek:

Staying the Course, but not dropping the weight.
Thanks to all of you who commented on my post Staying the Course but not dropping the weight. I think that I shall join the Spa and get off the scales. I believe I was watching them too much, I feel better and look better, dropped two sizes and I need to excercise to tone up. I think I was too engrossed in this and I'll now relax and let it happen! You all were great with your comments!

Staying the Course, but not dropping the weight.
I feel like I am not dropping enough weight, what am I doing wrong? I am staying under 1,000 calories per day and getting my protien. Started Walking a mile every other day along with some weight work for my arms and body toning. I had my surgery on July 30, 2009, I weighed in at 250.5 and now weigh 228.8. one week prior to surgery I weighed 256.5, but I feel so fat. I know I have lost a lot of weight, but I can't feel that it is enough for the time. I am feeling ashamed and defeated, anyone else experience this?:crying:

Being borad and eating!!
Hi, I am new to this, Had my surgery on July 30, 2009. I too get hungry at night, but that is when I was always my hungriest. I am bored, even watching TV my mind wanders away from the program. Find a new hobby, get busy and you won't eat at all. The head is telling the stomach you are hungry. You then dream of all the things you can have to eat, and start looking for something to eat to keep you busy, this food stays with you all nite while you sleep and turns into sugars and starches!!! Learn to crochet, knit, take an art class and sketch, do something else in other words, not eat.
