  1. Did you have a problem with skin and are you going to have a tummy tuck or any of the other surgeries?? I weighed 267 when I started and still have about thirty lbs to go and then I am going to get a tuck, I think.. Did you weigh and measure the foods you ate and what calorie amount did you consume daily?? Just would like to get these last few lbs off.
  2. :rolleyes:Well yes, Staying in God's Presence, that is the answer my friends. He helps us make all the important decisions in life if we will just rely on him and LET him help us. The Word says that if we abide in the presence of God, He will defeat our enemies, and hide us in the day of trouble. God's attention is on us, but we must keep our attention on Him to enjoy the fullness of His presence in our lives. We must invite God to be involved in everything we do, and then remember to praise Him for His goodness. And now shall my head be lifted up above my enemies round about me; in His tent I will offer sacrifices and shouting of joy; I will sing praises of the Lord. Psalm 27:6 My lesson from this today has opened my eyes, I know that there is not a battle I can NOT win or you either if we stay in his presence. I struggle with obesity! Even with the bands help, we need God's help everyday to live with this in our lives. People will try to sway you, your decisions, your efforts. There is jelousy to deal with, anger management, and we are impatient, but God is in our favor and in control. Praying for a peaceful day for all.
  3. You may not need a fill, I did some skipping on the fills when I felt tight enough. Too full is not fun at all. Let me tell you. I am very tight now and it is hard for me to get in the necessary calories I need to lose weight and my gym membership is up and I have not renewed it yet so I am trying to find other ways to exercise till the first of the year too. I know I won't go as much over the holidays if I join now. Good luck and enjoy your trip to England, sounds exciting. Try some of the foods there or you will regret it. I went to Alaska on a cruise TOO TIGHT and could not eat hardly, I did not lose weight either cause I was not consuming enough calories. You are right on. Feeling this band in our bodies and how it controls us is a learning experience.
  4. After a few fills you will get "tight" or the band will restrict you more in that the opening to your stomach will get smaller and you will have to be careful of what you just eat or chew a little and try to get through that opening to your stomach. So learn now to slow down, and chew to get in the good habits of eating and living with the band. God Bless.
  5. I feel the same way too. The compliments are nice, but the way I feel, and the meds I have shed, are so worth this journey, God Bless.
  6. Me too! I ate good, and logged all my foods today, did pretty good, got in around 1,000 calories and about 86 grams of protien. So I am heading in the right direction today. Just have to work it through, great learning experiences. Thanks!!!

Nothing to it! Right? You will notice how much less you will want to eat now, and you ARE on your way.
  8. I actually had an unfill of a very minute amount of fluid and it helped me so much. I too was barfing or in pain otherwise when I am too tight. I am very tight now! Good in one way, not in another, if you can't keep enough calories down, you can not burn any up and therefore DON'T lose weight at all. About 1,100 calories is needed each day, and drinking them all is no way to live either. We need to "fit" into the world of eating all types of food. I blamed myself at first and felt bad to ask for an unfill, but knew I had to. I sometimes will drink right before bedtime and then feel it rising back up in my esophogus after I lay down. I KNOW I am very tight. I am going to try another two weeks before I call the Dr. to see if I can work past this point. Drink Something Hot before eating meals, it does help to loosen up the band.
  9. :mad:I went to bed hungry and very dissatisfied. There will be days when nothing agrees with you. Yesterday was my day. I got out in the pouring rain, bought taco shells and came home to fix taco's for dinner. I can usually eat something crunchy like the shell of the taco. Fixed myself one and could not eat it! So I ate the meat filling instead and a little tomato. Waited awhile and drank some soda. Felt good, went to bed, but back up at 3:30 AM it was a huge thunderstorm outside and my stomach was having one inside. I WAS HUNGRY!! When my band gets tight, I sometimes have a cup of hot liquid, like tea or coffee. So I poured myself a cup of hot black coffee and enjoyed that, then I fixed three slices of bacon and two scrambled eggs! A big breakfast is NOT something I usually do. But today I am HUNGRY. I am on the Adkins Diet with the high protein but with some added carbs. Trying to get back into ketosis this week. (fat-burning) It is hard to get going again, but this is the week I AM going to DO IT. I so want these last 25 lbs OFF. I want 10 down by Christmas and the balance off by next March. My Anniversary is the 17th, St. Patricks Day! After this last 25lbs, I will look into the Tummy Tuck! So I have a lot to look forward to! And to work towards as well. This big breakfast should hold me for awhile today, if I can get it all to go down and stay down, if I overeat, I get sick. My tightness is just right, but I tend to keep eating when I am full, old habits die hard!!! Hope you all are acheiving your goals and getting back on track if you are off. Remember to chew, chew, chew, about 30 times for meat, that is the culprit everytime for me! God Bless!:bored:
  10. I have watched you and followed your blog for over a year now, I am 14 months out and too feel the same way you do, I still have about twenty lbs to go and I am contemplating the tummy tuck, it will be the first of a few surgerys I would like to have. Good for you, you deserve all of this and more.

Good for you, A Christmas Present!!! It will help you through the holidays to eat less and be less hungry.
  12. GREAT!! This is good news, more need help with their weight to keep them healthy and alive a lot longer.

I started at 267 lbs, 5'5" tall and that was one year and three months ago. You all will be fine, just do as told and stick to the plan. I started in size 24's and I am now in 14's regulars, not womens!!!! Love it, changed my life for the better, God Bless You!
  14. My weight will fluctuate about three lbs and I am l yr and 3 mos out from the band. Don't get discouraged with the scales, water can cause fluctuation. Sounds like you are making "smart choices with what is in front of you". God Bless you on your journey.
  15. I have been on here almost daily since July 2009 and I love it for support and the most reliable information, cause you can really find out a lot from those who have HAD this surgery here. The Doctor I used, could put them in very well, but had not experienced having a band, the feelings, the emotions, nothing like what good folks on here will share with you, here you don't get it always sugar-coated, but you get the real information you want, true and honest! That is the only way to understand how to live with the wonderful band. Praying for you and your journey to happiness with the band.
  16. I have two close friends who both had the Bypass surgery around 6-7 years ago. This was the same time I WAS considering it too. They lost very quickly and stayed down for around two to three years. Both of them had vitamin defeciencies and health problems. I KNEW I did not want that! I watched one of them very closely, she and I are like sisters although we live about 130 miles apart. She and I now wear the same size clothes! She is afraid that I will out lose her now cause she is gaining! Why? I did hear from someone or read it somewhere, that they will gain around 15 or so lbs back?! She still looks awesome I might add! I still have around 20 something lbs I want to lose and hope to do it within this coming year. Started writing my foods down again daily. And I am getting started back with my exercise routine too so I am working hard for that last 20! Then I can get my Tummy Tuck and Boob Job!!!! Not too bad right now, so my hubby is balking on those extra surgerys but I will win this battle!!LOL This is for ME!!!!!! Of course I will accept the Lord's Guidance in all these matters and we will see. "The Lord says, "I will make you wise and show you where to go. I will guide you and watch over you." Psalm 32:8 NCV God, I look to you for direction and counsel as I make important decisions in my life. Give me a listening ear to hear your voice and a heart that is quick to obey. Amen. Hope you all are staying the course, keeping a journal and encouraging others along the way. :bored:
  17. Yes you are getting there, it has just taken time, right, and as I say we have plenty of that!!! You look so good, and by the way, Love the New Profile Pic! LOL
  18. Again Great Post, True! I got to the point that I am the one jumping up and sitting on the tables, etc. That fear will also leave you soon, you will transition in your mind, I did but made up my mind never to get complacent with it!!! I forgot the other day about the routine in the mornings I USE to have with meds, that I don't have to take any~~~anymore. You will change and life will change only for the BETTER!!! Love and Hugs!
  19. I DO UNDERSTAND how you feel, cause with one of my first really big Real Estate Commissions, I bought my husband a Harley for Christmas!!!!! I wanted him to use it and have a good time, but he never really enjoyed it like I wanted him to because I was not riding with him! I could always vision my but hanging over on both sides of the seat!!!!!LOL It was really a challenge for me and I NEVER DID RIDE with him. He wound up selling the bike for less than I paid for it. I am sad because before I married him he was in the service, had a bike and loved it, and I wanted to share in this love with him, but would not. So now, if he gets another one, I WILL DO IT!!! So sometimes we have to realize, as I did, to take the ME out of the situation and put the WE into it! Go, DO IT and have fun, it is a great cause (cause you LOVE him and HE loves you) and it will help children, WHAT MORE????
  20. Congratulations, yes keep walking, I know it is hard but it is only the beginning, soon you will be past all this and feel like running too!!! There will be a burst of energy hiding inside of you, after you get past all the time of being concerned and you should be this first month just take care of and listen to yourself! It pays to. Take care and Congrats again.
  21. I second Sandradee!!! Good Job~but be careful.
  22. Five lbs is a lot, CELEBRATE Girl!!! All Dr.s offices scales are off to ours at home, use the one you want to. I go by my scales, cause after the followup, you will only have YOUR scales. I bought a new set and they are expensive enough to not lie! lol! It is the time of day you weigh as well and with clothes on or not too! Congrats.
  23. My anniversary is 3-17-11 and I AM WITH YOU! I have tried Buckling Down many times and do not do it! So lets BAND together~(no pun intended) And see who can do it???? I think I need more accountability to someone, who??? I no longer have to go into get weighed monthly etc. And my husband is satisfied with me and my family does not think I need to lose another lb, BUT I DO!!! I so want that size 12 just like you, I am in 14's and some 16's (Bust size is not down like I thought it would be) I REALLY want to wear a size 12 too. I think we should challenge each other to post the days food intake on here and we can see what we did that worked for us??? Anyone ready for that?
  24. Good for you, LapBand is my ENABLER too! I too made that list, not a goal for 100 lbs, just a list for things I have longed to do for years, I have acheived almost all those things on my list, and would have completed it, but~~~~~I keep adding to it! LOL Life is so full and all ahead of us, great post, enjoyed reading it.
  25. Nor should YOU HIDE! You are gorgeous! And you have come so far, if there were no more weight to be lost, look at what you have accomplished. My lands girl!!!!! Your smile is so positive now and I see confidence just falling off you and in your wordings! The world is your oyster and you are its pearl!!! Remember"God is the Light by which you see the world and yourself. God is the light through which you understand your reason for being. Stay close to his light. His light will enable you to fullfill the purpose for which you were created." Psalm 36:9
