  1. You are so awesome! Number 1 in my book, you can do it, What is 12 lbs anyway? Just a number to reach and you have all the tools before you. I can remember seeing the first photos of you and you have come a LONG way baby!!!! Congrats~ So happy for you.
  2. Good to have you on this side, we are the losers! LOL Losing weight that is! It does feel good let me tell you that the future is yours! God Bless!

Don't ask and maybe it won't start!!! that was the worst part of the surgery for me! But I got over it, lots of Gas~X! I thought it was a great trade off for the results. I have lost over 90 lbs and it has been only 14 months and It is staying off! That is the best thing, I have more to lose but it gets slower and harder to lose after the first six months so do as you are told and stay real close to the Dr.s orders and you will be successful, don't cheat, you are only cheating YOURSELF! God Bless and feel better soon.
  4. :smile:Life is Good. Look all around you and you have so much to be happy about! Fall is in the air in Florida. I am 94 lbs or so lighter than I was last year this time. I am so happy today. I have a beautiful family with a beautiful daughter getting married in 12 days! Live is good. My new dress fits and looks nice on. I don't feel FAT in it or trying to HIDE a part of my body I don't like!!! I love my life now, thanks to the band and the positive changes in my life, I am very happy today~oh wait did I say that Already????
  5. You are #1 I love it, and that is how I style my hair now! No more curls, I use a flat iron and love the ease of getting ready now! Very Hip!

Glad that I could help you make your decision, you will definately feel more restriction after the fill and it is ok! I always lost a couple of lbs the week of the fill.
  7. You were right to post, I have learned more about my band from those right here on LapBandtalk than I did from my Dr's office. I don't think the Nurses are well versed to help because they don't live with this band daily like we do! You know your own body better than anyone, and ONCE when I was sick, I did not want to SHAME myself and tell the Dr.!! I was stupid, never again! I made up my mind that this is MY JOURNEY, not theirs, but they are there to help me along the way. I paid for my surgery and it was very serious to me, any complicatons can arise from this or any other major surgery and even death! So I never take surgery as casual! You look great and are such a great addition to this group. Glad to have you as a friend!
  8. I eat breakfast solid, lunch soups fill in the afternoon and then nothing but liquids for 24 hrs. That is usually enough to get past the swelling of the fill and helps kick start a little weight loss too! Just remember to get the protien shakes in when you are not eating solid protien! Best Wishes.
  9. Biggest Loser is a GREAT Motivator!!! I love to see anything that helps people shed weight and feel better about themselves. I now stay on track because I KNOW folks are watching me as a role model and I don't want to let them down, OR MYSELF! I wanted this so bad! I am like you and your story is almost mine!!!! I have a ways to go to be really satisfied, and all the time in the world to get there too. I know I COULD NOT take the pressure of the extent of the exercise they do on Biggest Loser, but they DON'T Show all the Dr.s on there etc. that they are privileged to have helping them. All day with no break, we could accomplish a lot too and everybody watching??? The pressure would be really intense right? I love my band and it is my silent reminder to eat and stay healthy, hey girl, we made the BEST choice, but I too am addicted to Biggest Loser!
  10. Great post thanks for sharing, I am also about the same as you and watching everything carefully. No slips but I am now aware what to look for thanks to your post. I need to lose about 35 lbs more to be really satisfied. I have woke up to fluid in my throat! When I drink my last water of the night before laying down and I am full I think it just stays there? Not a good thing! I know when I overeat too or go back for a few more bites I feel TOO FULL and hurt around the port area? Is that crazy or what?
  11. What you do is so important! You have the ability to FREEZE time! The kids and their families will be so grateful.. Just try to treat them all normal and have fun, that is what they really want and need, I think we all do. I felt handicapped before I took this weight off, I thought people looked at me with pity and it made me feel less normal. I try not to glare anymore at people like I use to. It is hard not to~when I see "Me" the "Old Me" in them, I just want to go over hug them, cry with them and tell them there is an alternative to being in that condition. You certainly have a challenge with this photo shoot. You have a gift for sure. Enjoy the time with your sister, and I look forward to viewing those pics!! Florida is cooler this week, cold front moving through, feels like Fall, although I am further up in the Panhandle. I love Disney World, glad you came and had fun!
  12. Thanks for all your comments, I really just let the stomach work it off, never did have to take anything and this morning for a little while it was bad, but around noon it left me, I thank God for the relief. I actually was able to eat well today (maybe too well, LOL) after the first part of the day. I had never known that about Pepto, I had some liquid in the fridge, and thought about it, but since I didn't trust the age of it, I decided to throw it out! Good thing huh ladies? We all are living and learning the curves with this thing called our BAND, that is the process of our lives now and makes us different when it comes to even small things like an upset stomach?? We will get there. And Sandra, I am going Monday to get my hair colored and cut and my nails done on Tuesday with a massage!!! That outta take off some stress, when the tent arrives I will relax, as I told my daughter as long as she is beautiful for her special day, walks down the isle and says "I DO" that is all that really matters.
  13. :eek:Up since 3 Am with an upset stomach! Not feeling good at all, can't sleep! I have been having a lot of digestive problems these past few days, and now this! Going to call in tomorrow to see what I can take for it? Any suggestions? Most meds don't swallow well anyway. But need to get back to normal soon, my daughters wedding is just 12 days away!!!

116 lbs! That is totally awesome! You have a great testament for others and share of yourself and your experience through your recipes. Thanks so much for that. I am so proud for you, the weight just dragged me down and now that it is coming off, I can hardly hold on to myself to give some ME time to me. I want to do it all! I know how you feel, congrats. Love the red dress!
  15. You are so important to us all and we look forward to logging on and seeing your smilin face. Keep up the good work and you will be very successful!

The scales can play tricks on you, watch out for that, make sure to weigh the same way and at the same time of day. You are doing so great, and this trip will boost your spirits. I have about 4 lbs to go and 10 days to get there? Oh well, I did get closer to the goal and my new weight. I will be getting there before Thanksgiving. I am spending the Thanksgiving Holiday with my daughter and her husbands family and my new granddaughter, they can eat, I'll just hold and feed the baby! HA have fun in NOLA, you "Sassy thing"

I have not been sick yet with the flu or anything thank God! I do feel so sorry for you. I have been just a little off my eating habits this week, with working on my daughters wedding stuff and I am feeling tired. The office holds lots of germs for all of us and I have started carrying the small things of hand sanitizer around with me, to use this fall and winter. Hoping and praying that you will get to feeling better soon, it is no fun being sick, just don't throw up too much, or maybe not at all, I HATE to be that sick. Get some rest and sleep is good for you.
  18. So very true, the health is so important! School is demanding, I have a daughter who teaches, and she loves it, Fall is coming and all the activities that surround it are here, I have some NEW sweaters I can't wait to wear!!
  19. My sentiments exactly, it takes the same amount of struggles to lose with the LapBand, you still have to maintain and eat the right things, eat when and often and concentrate on chewing, water, vitamins, exercise. Come On this is work people, the LapBand is our TOOL Not the magic bullet!
  20. The Concert was Awesome, outdoor at Sandestin Links Golf Course! It almost rained Vince out, but Mary Chapin Carpenter was great as an opening number for him. He came on about 9:00 PM and sang for an hour, I love his song Go High Up on that Mountain, and Liza Jane! Got drenched then dry again and rode it out! Had a blast with friends.
  21. :thumbup:Well now. Last year only one other person could sit on the full size couch with me on it too, Comfortably that is! Tonight all my husbands relatives stopped by to see us and I actually scooted over so two people could sit on the couch with me!! 94 lbs does make a difference in the size of the couch. Going to get up early, only 15 days till my daughters wedding! Made about 400 buttermints and dotted them with tiny icing rosebuds and leaves for the wedding. I only ate a couple! They had to be tasted!!!! My granddaughter who is three had way too many! LOL Tomorrow morning I have to finish the hand sewing of the pearls on her dress. She is going to be a beautiful flower girl too. Tomorrow night, going to Destin, Florida with a best friend for a Vince Gill Concert!!! Yayyy! Not my Birthday or hers, just a break for these hard working girls. I have not been to a concert in years. It is at the Beach!! It was nice to fit in with my in-laws who were always so nice to me before to my face, but felt sorry for me being so FAT before, they never told me but I knew it! I hope my husband was proud! He FINALLY told me I look so good to him! This whole year I was fishing for that compliment from him, he matters the most to me, the love and support of my life. He said it two or three times. My head was swelled and my heart too! God Bless you all! Good Night!
  22. Did you discuss HOW they (the Family) could support you with food habits before you had the surgery? If not, then I know you want to blame someone, but is it really fair to blame them??? I understand how frustrating it can be. I usually just get up and go take a shower while my husband has food he likes and knows it will temp me or that I can't have it. I don't resent them for it, I am the one who has the eating disorder and the weight problem. I am the one who made this decision, and I did it for ME and I still do it for ME and no one else. They probably don't care (family) if you did this or not, they will be proud of you eventually so just stick to the plan and go with it, YOU will be happy in the end! Trust me, I am praying for you to heal and feel better in your spirit. and that your family will learn what to do and how to understand where you are right now.

A fill will help you to start dropping the weight and I know that the first year is the year in which we lose the most weight with the band, but it is a decision you have to make. I KNEW when I had enough and I actually took out some the last time I went in, a .02CC unfill, not that much, but just wanted that Sweet Spot back and now I KNOW when I am full and I can not eat anymore. I use to lose at least 2 lbs per week, and at the end of 13 mos. I am seeing ozs instead of lbs, but it is ok. It is for life for me. Hopefully the acid will stay away, I use to keep Prilosec in business, LOL
  25. Just curious but did you have a lot of convulsing and vomitting? That could have caused it! I am about 13 months post band and doing ok, I wish I had lost more by now of course like most. I feel like I start over every day with the band. It is a life thing, and I know it is hard to take, but if you lost that much weight with it, it was very successful for you. Thanks for posting this, we are here for you and will encourage you if we can, as you do the same for us. Those who are experiencing even the difficult times and share are helping others who have or may have the same things happen to them.
