  1. Well this year for our 31st Anniversary (which is today!) I planned a trip to the mountains with lots of streneous activity~ and not what you are thinking! LOL We went to Sky Valley GA, the highest mountain in GA only to find 10-12 inches of white snow on the ground! I made a real snow man and crowned him with an FSU Cap! This Florida Girl had a ball, I went out to eat, cooked in the Cabin, and even ate cake! But~~~~~~I increased my level of daily activity, and that is what it all boils down to, eating less, doing more and watching the scales drop and the clothes sizes too! I just love the fact that I have lost over 20 inches in my hips! I have only lost 2 inches in my boobs!!!! So~~~~maybe no boob job will be necessary! Anyway if you have your choice???My husband is happy about that anyway! LOL "HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY EVERYONE" LOTS OF LUCK ON YOUR JOURNEY!:biggrin:

  3. So happy for you! I too have noticed that when I stress, my band tightens! I did not have an unfill. Also if I eat while riding, it always wants to come back up, just can't relax! I try to mentally relax myself and sit so I am comfortable for the food to go down easy. You look awesome! I weighed about what you did, and I have lost 77 lbs. I too don't want the emanciated look, or the wrinkles! I want to be in a size 12 or maybe a 10 and then maintain the weight! Have a great time on your cruise! Never been to Italy (yet!) Great place for romance with your hubby! Have fun!

I too go along with all that Christie has to say, sound advice, this HAS to be something you can LIVE with, I would not let anyone make a l oz pouch out of my stomach! EVER! Get a second opinion.
  5. Thanks for posting your stories! I am out 7 months and 77 lbs down and feeling like crap after returning home from a week long trip that I did eat too much on! It hurt to overeat, my tummy and my feelings after I gave in to the food that tempted me, like fries and Ice Cream and just plain too much of everything! I was doing so good too before the vacation, now I have to go and LEAD support group night on Tuesday! And I have to weigh in, but I too will Start over! Life is all about re-starts, and we get as many chances as we need. I always told my daughters and daughter-in-laws, you can always go on a diet, but you have one chance to have a healthy baby, just enjoy your children, and you can get back on track and take the weight off, let your band be your help!
  6. Sir I don't know Dr. Friedman, but Dr. Timmothy Klepper, DeFuniak Springs, Florida (One Hour from Pensacola) $14,500.00 includes all fills for one year! Did my surgery, great Dr! And there is a payment plan!
  7. Hey you are doing AWESOME! I have lost 76.5 lbs but it has taken me 7 mos! I weighed 270 to start or so and now 194, but hey I can relate to getting under the 200 mark, it felt so good! Got 30 lbs more to go to goal, but the lbs are going off slower now. My body thinks it is going to be sick I guess! LOL I am down from a 24 W to a 14 and some 12's so I am a Happy Bandster now!

I was eating too LITTLE believe it or not at first, gosh you know we are just learners and it is hard to go what is right all the time? I had one lady tell me to increase my caloric intake but decrease my carbs, it worked! I get full felt less hungry, did not crave sweets and lost lbs! Good Luck, I too know about the sore muscles, ugh! But love the gym and the tight legs and arms I am getting along with added strength.
  9. Great and positive take on the subject of BH, I NEVER knew about it, and never was in it!!! I just did what I was told to do, and it worked well for me. I never get hungry, but like you I plan the small frequent meals and keep a snack for emergencies with me, like 1 or 2 oz of almonds, or string cheese! Just keep something in your tummy and you will feel full and not need to overeat, great words of advice, thanks!

I too knew that I would NEED to exercise and joined a Gym only two mos after the LB. I felt like a fish outa water at first, but grew to LOVE the Gym, I love the weight resistance machines and have a routine, really toning and it helps to burn calories to speed up the weight loss! Love your post!
  11. :tt1: Boy am I loving my band NOW! I am getting into size 12's and I CAN HARDLY believe it myself!! This is FUN! Losing weight has NEVER Been FUN before but now, I just love getting on the scales. I don't even care if it shows a tiny l lb gain, cause I KNOW that by sticking to my program, it will be gone by the end of the week and taking another lb with it! FUN! I love shopping for NEW CLOTHES too! And I am smaller now than I have been in a very long time. I wore a size 14 Wedding Gown from JC Penny's in 1979. I will be wearing a size 10 to my daughters wedding in OCT. if I stay on track with my weight loss! Now how FUN is that????????? If you are new to LB or just thinkin about it! Don't wait another minute! JUST DO IT~ OMG you will love it and have FUN toooooooooooo! Join us here on LBT and keep up with me on by blog too at www.thegoldendayz.blogspot.com:thumbup:

  13. I use Body Fortress Brand from Wal-Mart!!!! It is so good and creamy! Mix strawberry and Choclate for a good drink. They just came out with Cookies and Cream too!!!!! Very reasonable too! Last a long time! Use Skim Milk or 1%! Best of luck to you. I have lost 76.2 lbs in 7 months!
  14. It was a lot of fun! I thought it would be hard to let others, (Not Lapband patients) see me when I was big. It wasn't!!! Got three who have called already today wanting to come to the next seminar for more information!
  15. You are beautiful! You will do just fine, and the Date for your surgery will be here before you know it! Best of luck to you!

Wow your weight loss is great! I know about the Rain, and the cold weather, Come on Spring and Summer! Keep up the good work, it is showing on those scales right?
  17. Down 40 lbs is so awesome! The fills are just something you get use to, but it is natural to be anxious prior to the first one, it is the fear of the unknown.
  18. Amen Sister, I enjoyed your Blog, hope and pray you make it to the Surgery, It totally changed my life, I was almost 270 now down 75 lbs after only 7 mos.
  19. We all had to get through these stages, and you will because the prize is just ahead of you! Today is my seventh month anniversary, down 75 lbs and so proud I stuck it out! Congrats on the decision, will be praying for all of us!
  20. I am getting a little freaked out tonight! It is raining cats and dogs here tonight and I have to be at my Dr.s Booth at Taste of Home, Healthy eating and living. I am the featured patient from the LapBand Surgery!!! My first appearance and I am not even at AFTER!!! Now what to wear, how will I do my hair, hope I don't get wet and the mascara runs, OMG I am so darn nervous! I should do fine, cause I will just be myself, that is all I can be. But less of myself. Oh I can and DO tell everyone about my surgery, but not with my Dr. standing there with me, Oh well, guess he will get to know me a little better. The Hospital where I had my surgery is sponsoring the booth! Pray for me please, tomorrow Tuesday at 4:30 PM!!:rolleyes2:

  22. Thank you for that wonderful comment! I am so excited for you! At first you won't believe this can work, and then you will want it to be instant, and it will drag a little, then kick in, then slow down then get going again. Just come along for the ride, it is all good cause when you get comfortable with the band for life, you will know that it is the best thing you ever did for yourself! You deserve it, keep telling yourself that cause you do! My best wishes to you. Follow me on my blog too www.thegoldendayz.blogspot.com
  23. :rolleyes2:Yes my youngest daughter is getting married in October! She has always wanted the different things from all the other girls so 10-10-10 is her choice for a wedding date, won't be around for another 1,000 years! Great Choice! It will also be cooler in Florida for a wedding outside! We went shopping for "Styles" in Wedding gowns and Mother of the Bride Gowns Saturday and a Tasting from the Caterer's. The food was delicious and by the time we got through with the Cocktail selections I was full! LOL The tiny crab cakes (4 of them) were the best! And the crostini's were good too (2) Shrimp Cocktail (2) and I was stuffed! I found a beautiful gown, loved the style on me! A size 14 is what I tried on but I "HAVE" to order a size 12!!!!!!How wonderful is that? When I started this LapBand Journey, I weighed almost 270 lbs and wore 22-24-26's depending on how they were made. I Thank God for leading me in the direction of the Band! Have a happy Day all!
